Films such as these give us in these darkening days, a glimpse back to a better time in our social 'evolution'. They make me mourn for what we've thrown away through the decades.
Good story about the dynamics of film-making, packed with real family drama and solidarity! It's far from high definition, quality-wise, but well worth watching! If I was a movie-go-er in 1935, it would have been worth the price of a ticket!!!!
The Nut Farm, USA 25 March 1935, UK 31 May 1935 (London), UK 14 October 1935. Wallace Ford as Willie Barton; Betty Alden as Helen Barton Brent; Florence Roberts as Ma Barton - Willie's Mother; Spencer Charters as Sliscomb - the Landlord; Oscar Apfel as Bob Bent - Helen's Husband; Bradley Page as Hamilton T. Holland - Acting School; Lorin Raker as Biddleford - Holland's Writer; Arnold Gray as Eustace Van Norton - Holland's Actor; Joan Gale as Agatha Sliscomb; Stanley Blystone as Holland's Asst. Cameraman; Hank Mann as Joe - Holland's Cameraman.
Thanks for the upload. I think the sound isn't bad for a movie of this age; it's definitely audiable. You do great work, PizzaFlix. May the sauce be with you!
@ Kass - the audio is pretty scratchy. This was posted before I had the ability to attempt audio restoration. But there’s only so much you can clean up before it starts to add an echo artifact.
Thank you. Nice movie. When I first played it I realized the the audio channels are 180 degrees out of phase so I inverted one channel and enjoyed it. I saw the comments and that's probably 80% of the issue. I looked at the waveform and the noise is different on the right a left too. That may be what "the talking is warbled" comment means. After inverting one channel, mixing them to down to mono helped with the noise by a couple dB.
How nice for YOU. The rest of us have no access to your 'fix'. Of course, as you intended, we're all duly impressed with your audiophile tech expertise.
That video comment to PizzaFlix, an AV pro, was to point him in the right direction so he could fix it for his subscribers. If others own a PC they certainly have "access" to the fix since the software is freely available but maybe not convenient on most systems.
Funny to see that by 1935 Hollywood already had this kind of aspect to the entertainment business. So easy to prey on vain, desperate or gullible people. I am surprised by how early this was made.
She was a picky actress, only accepting roles where there were financial issues on real estate. In real life, she invested in the Bulova Watch Company during the Great Depression and retired due to a lack of relevant roles.
Thanks Pizza flix for the movie but the volume is so low, cant hear it, I dont have a hearing problem , would enjoy so much more if it was louder. I dont like having to strain to hear what people are saying. But I know thats not your fault Pizza Flix, you always share the best films ,that you know people who love to watch old movies will enjoy, Thank you very much ! This last few months has been kind of hectic, so Ive been unable to watch many of your movies, hope to start getting caught up watching them all. Have a nice summer, & God bless !
That's the National Recovery Act of 1933, part of the New Deal (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Industrial_Recovery_Act_of_1933) that helped give many Americans work during the Great Depression not the National Rifle Association.
Too difficult to hear so I'm sorry to be giving a thumbs down. It doesn't happen often but in this instance I have to reccomend Classic Hollywood Movies to be able to watch and HEAR if you no longer have bionic ears.
@@PizzaFLIX , I hope you are able to fix. It was a cute little gem that some will miss out on especially if they don't go searching for a different channel as I did. I have chronic fatigue so reading an entire movie won't work. Glad you saw my post because it appears it's been an issue since posted but I commend you for trying to keep up with the many films you post and thank you for your FREE channel. Best to you and of course I'm still a viewer.
@@PizzaFLIX , well at least 12 of us had problems lol. I'm sure it has to do with what you are watching it on as well but I dont normally have a hard time hearing on my tablet which lays next to me in bed within 1 foot away lol. Maybe check the Classic Hollywood version to see the difference. Regardless I'll remove my thumbs down for you trying to improve and the movie itself is cute even if not watched here..

I like Wallace Ford so much. He was in a lot of obscure films, but made his mark. He became a strong character actor.
Nice!
I have met all of those people in Hollywood.
I should have said that I have met all of those KINDS of people in Hollywood.

Now, that was a cute story with a happy ending! And, no 'stupid' sound effects like the films they make today!
Love the Vintage Hollywood

Some comedies make me laugh and some make me smile but I didn't get the jokes. Must have been my mood I guess.
thanks for upload
I surely wish the volume was adequate. I’ve heard this was a fun old film.
If you love those old 30s movies, must buy head phones. 2021.
is that the lady that was losing the house-shoe March of the Wooden Soldiers from the 30's?!!

Yes that is Florence roberts.i adore her.
@@swineafterbirthI think you are mistaken.florence Roberts acted in movies up to her death in 1940.perhaps you are thinking of Helen Jerome Eddy.
Well, I saw this coming. It’s kind of like The Producers. But this came first.
I turned the captions on, sound quality different back then...

Good one😉
Thats the infamous Aunty Em.from the Wizard of Oz :)
Guess they type casted her permanently.
You are mistaken.clara blandick who played auntie em in the wizard of Oz is not in this movie.
I read the play and i got this movie on dvd from alpha video.their print is good but the sound is somewhat poor.i love Florence Roberts.
Sounds OK to me. Good movie.
Good funny movie. 🙃
The audio is so poor that I could not listen very long to this movie.
What's wrong with the volume I've Got My Mind turned up all the way and I still can't hear it.
Enjoyed the film! (Too bad for the sound, hope something can be done). Surpprising generic!
Some of these movies have low volume. Too bad.
This one is, sadly, pretty much inaudible...
Can't hear it.
I couldn't hear the soundtrack for people talking all over it.
Difficult to hear-- would have liked to see it all but the talking was warbled
The sound quality of this movie is very poor. Can barely make out what is being said.
poor sound quality. cute old movie
I can't hear it.
I can’t hear this 😩
6:27 ew, those awful hip wader pants.
like it was backed with help by the NRA 106 35

faulty audio
Audio on this is TERRIBLE! Can't make out a word they're saying. VERY POOR quality.😢
Inaudible.

Will listen to the volume level and repost if needed. Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX

koala41 the volume seems fine there is a lot of background noise. I will review my source and see if I can remaster the audio.
