back up the ramps and drive down the ramps.
Thought it would have been better reversing up and driving down 😂
The best thing to do when unloading is completely let off the gas pedel if your on a mower with a hyrostatic trans. The trans will limit the speed when going down and you won’t loose control. If your on a mower with a manuel trans put it in the lowest gear and completely let off the clutch, once again the trans will brake its self when going down and you won’t loose control
You got more guts than me! Glad you made this video! Made me realize i dont have the nerve to drive it up my ramps! You rock!
Exactly what I was thinking...I don't have the nerve to try this at home
EXACTLY that's what I was thinkin

run the front tires of your truck up on a set of them car ramps, it puts the bed at angle and lowers your tailgate things go way easier that way....

The way he drives? LoL!!!
Good job. You could also use two sets of ramps, this would lengthen the angle
My old Ford 8N manual said to back the tractor up the incline so as not to upend it by driving it forward, since the centre of gravity is toward the rear axle. Not only that but letting out the clutch in the forward direction tends to raise the front, where in reverse it does the opposite.

Whether loading a motorcycle on a single ramp, or a RideOn Mower with twin ramps; I prefer to locate the axle & wheels of truck (or trailer) in a depressed position (such as a trench, drain, or street gutter) so as to lower the rear edge where ramp attaches.
Did just THIS first back in 1974 with my initial hardwood plank ramp (with steel lip), with sloping driveway and half-ton Honda TN360 kei truck's rear wheels located in street gutter.
Good call on using ramp securing straps - the ramp/s should have firm connection with load-carrying deck.

Yes absolutely. Give yourself an edge whenever possible. Also idle down the engine and let it brake in reverse going down. Coasting down looks like a really bad idea.
H💐💐💐🏆💐🙏
The Hell with those ramps. It does not look safe. What I do is to find the bottom of the driveway and put my back tires in the little cement rain water runoff. That way the truck tailgate is really low to the ground. Then have a buddy help you lift up the tractor onto the bed and roll it in. Just a thought. You are my Hero.
i always push it up with help or use a winch, would much rather not be on or bound to the machine if it should flip or fall

Ramps because I’m a cheap skate. But I usually try to find a ditch or something to back into with my truck so it’s not such a big incline.

Maybe you should backup into the truck backwards so coming down would be easier!!! I would hate to see you get hurt chief you seam like a great guy!!!
Trailer for anything you have to drive on ...Ramps ok for walk behind mowers or snowblower ect
Woah! This is different
Just so you know my two-year-old loves this video and only wants to watch this video, every day, he watches it, for the past 4 months. As soon as he sees my phone he says “cactor!!” And won’t quit until I set up this video for him.

Would probably be safer with a trailer. I know I would after watching you, especially when you were backing down. Dang, that even scared me a little.
If you had a small winch you could pull it up by the bumper and use it as a safety when backing down.

I think you should of back up the ramps, then come back down front ways. I use a low boy to haul my kayak and riding mower around. Tags for a trailer are cheap, you get a 10 foot long bed even on a single axle, and you can put it with any SUV or Pick-up -truck that has a towing package. If you two with out the package the rear gears get damaged easy. The oil coolers for the transmission and engine are a big over kill unless you are going to plow or really pull a lot of weight. I can pull 5800 safely with my 97 Jeep Cherokee Sport Heavy Duty. My trailer is well made and weighs a ton all on it's own. Another trick to loading and off loading is try to find a embankment so the rams are not so steep. Other than that good job....

Ramps aren't a bad idea as long as they are wide enough. Its a lot less nerve racking when they are wider because if you happen to go a little to the left or right there's no worry of falling off.
Hilarious.

Ramps worked good dude
Well, I say go with whichever you’re most comfortable with, because we use both at the same time. With the ramps for the truck and a trailer to haul the 4-wheeler’s and dirt bike, or 3 wheeler. I personally don’t load anything up the ramps, because that freaks me out, but I can do the trailer easily. Ramps are cheaper, but I do like the trailer better. You’re a good son, Rick. Taking care of your mama’s yard work!! 🌷🤗🦋
i love this guy!!!

You should invest a small one axle utility trailer just big enough for that long Tigers like me 1 ft longer slightly wider than the tractor
Yeah I should!
Made me a little nervous coming down for sure, but got to do what u gotta do..Try to get a used trailer definitely safer, sometimes u can find one a couple hundred bucks that will haul a lawnmower.

you should back it on. ive seen them flip over doing that very thing. its like if you are gonna attempt to pull stumps or , whatever , with a tractor. you run your chain under the tractor and hook it to the frontend or pull in reverse.
I have a set of Harbor Freight folding arched ATV ramps rated at 1400 lbs that are 7 ft long. They work well for higher 4x4 pickups, but you have to make sure your mowing deck is at the highest level before loading the mower...
I think that's a given with any ramp. Anyways, you should always lift your deck when driving around the yard, and not mowing

Holy shit fearless daredevil!! Forget mowing lawns, start jumping riding mowers over school busses!!! Lmao!!!
I was wondering if you would feel better if you backed it up on the truck, and drove it down instead?
I was thinking the same
Id be willing to bet unless it's 4 wheel drive.. which in this case is obviously not. Or has a locking rear end all it will do is slip and not make it. And possible slip sideways and fall off ramp....
I'd back up the ramps, or get longer ramps with underneath supports
Nice Video Thanks for sharing.

You got one beautiful looking truck there Rick and nothing runs like a deere
Thanks!
Ramps .I use ramps for 10 yrs never had issues .you do what you can afford .I'm not spending money on a trailer a hitch and registration and insurance for a trailer that wouldn't be used hardly

The ramps were from Harbor Freight. I'm not sure how much they were I borrowed them from a friend. Thanks for watching!
LOL, nice ending! Nice job using the straps this time. Get a little utility trailer to haul it around in. Easier to load and safer like you said.

Time for a belt and a haircut! Nice CTS. Always anchor the ramps at ground level or strap them to the trailer receiver.

Smart to tie the ramps down to the hitch.

Ok weird question but is that one large garage underneath or two small ones? I’ve never seen a setup quite like that
That's 2 separate garages on the lower level of the house. :)
Rick Mammana that’s a pretty neat setup never seen anything like it here in michigan
2 year old loves this. He laughs every time.
If you have any inclines on your property you could always use those to help level out the ramps

I vote trailer as well. Stay safe and you can always find more uses for the trailer.

You should back it on, so if the drive whiles slip and the grab it will not flit over on you.
I generally try to get my back truck tires lower.., maybe in a ditch...
Do you have a ditch or hill to park the truck on. Sometimes you can park the back at a hill and drive right into the truck but at your moms that would not do any good unless she has a hill to. Or a small trailer.
It worked but that was super sketchy especially when you backed it out

Is that a 42 inch blade? What size?
Yes. :)
Wow you did well! Ramps are cheaper than a trailer.

A electric winch mounted to the bulhhead or truck bed would be much safer, that ride down looked scarry. Also taking the tail gate off makes loading easier, that puts lot of stress on fhe tailgate and ifs mounting points.

Man, driving it off the ramp is way more dangerous then driving it up. By the way, I wasn't expecting that thing to move that fast. I've never owned a tractor, but all of the ones I've seen were slow and super loud.
Go ahead and get your trailer for what them aluminum ramps cost put towards a good trailer you can haul everything there and not mess up your truck just my thought stay cool peace out by the way I like your videos
Should invest in a trailer with a Ramp

Running your engine at full throttle just for a few moments can actually stress your mower, especially when starting it up. Starting it up on full throttle is one of the worst things you can do to your mower. Along with shutting the engine off on full throttle.

I’d get a trailer. They aren’t too expensive especially if you can find a decent used one.
Ya you could even find a cheap trailer at an auction
TheDavePhan 9🐦🐦🐦🐦🐇

Dave, Here in Illinois, trailers (even the cheap ones) must be licensed which costs over $100 to get it registered with an ID number and then license plates EVERY YEAR. This can add up and if you only need to move your tractor once or twice, it may not be worth the expense.
