I think I like this ship. It is very rewarding to launch an air strike against targets that are camping / bow tanking. I run aiming system, engine mod, concealment mod, and main battery mod. Inspirations.....I like Scott and Mikawa......the gun accuracy is not very good out of the box and this commander rewards getting hits on the enemy. 360 turrets are awesome. Its kinda hard to practice air strikes in an AI battle because the enemy is always pushing forward.....its hard to explain to your teammates that you are still improving and working out how to use this ship. Patience and enemy map awareness is vital. I think we will see more of this Air strike ability. Either in the form of Battle carriers or just adding it to already existing ships. One more cool thing is the XP payout for bomb hits is really high.
Nice match and really good point about needing to practice the drop mechanic. People expecting to dev strike ships with them need their heads examined.
I'd like to take this time to mention that the HMS Rodney is now on WoW PC and it has torpedos. I betcha ol' Xarkun will be gettin' that ship at some point....
Agreed, I impulse purchased the campaign so that i could play this new mechanic.. Is there a way to increase attack range on the airstrike? We can buff the range on torps, i think it would be a good idea to be able to extend reach so that you can really take advantage of the stealth attacks
I don't think so. Not yet anyway. In the future when they release the full Dutch cruiser line (which I'm sure will happen at some point soon), then maybe we'll a commander who can do that.
@@Xarkun I went back and looked at my builds (same modules and commander set up related to AA) on the Rochester and D-7, the D-7 does technically have a slightly higher AA DPS when at the 3rd inner circle. However, both of Rochester AA rings have the same range, so as soon as a plane enters the outer most ring, it’s putting out max AA DPS which is nearly the same as D-7 at the inner most ring.
And? I could do 40k in 30 seconds with almost literally any DD by landing a few torps. Are all DDs therefore overpowered? No. It needs something more than being able to do good damage to a slow battleship traveling in a straight line to be OP.
Glad u mentioned Schroder. My fave ship to take out since it dropped
"Behold the first Dutch ship to ever..." Um, HMNZS Friesland would like a word.
First in the Dutch ship category.
La Foudre has great AA got a clear skies with that.

I’m enjoying this ship.
Looking forward to Provencien. Great video, enjoyed watching👍

How do you know when you miss if it landed front of or behind the target?
A magellanic penguin swims by and hands you a note to let you know either way, which I think is very cool because ya can never go wrong with penguins.

Friesland is a province in the north of the Netherlands (or autonomous state?)
What commander do you use?
I cannot assign one to mine.
Not really getting the mechanic yet. Just got it. Maybe as I don't play cvs?
Great review GG
It is an interesting ship with the airstrikes

First Dutch? Friesland?
I guess, but Friesland doesn't fly the Dutch flag.
@@Xarkun It does
@@Xarkun It most certainly does.

San Diego is the king of AA dps by more than double De Zeven Provincien.
i think it would be better if it had smoke screens
I cant play mine, cant assign commander
Same here
Friesland and Rochester don’t care about CVs😂
Close on the best AA, Rochester is somewhat better…though it doesn’t seem to really matter at this point
Is it? Doesn’t surprise me. Rochester’s only real selling point is the AA. But yeah. I don’t think it matters to much right now.

“Not OP at all” proceeds to do 40k damage on a BB in 30 seconds…….

Better than Lushun!
Lushun will win more games as a sonar smoke DD.
