When our thirty-minute lunchtime came, dozens of us lined up before the take-out window of the Dairy Queen across the street. When my turn finally came, I ordered a cheeseburger with pickles and onions only. No mustard, no ketchup, no nothin', just cheese, pickles and onions. When my order came up, I took a bite and discovered it was loaded with mustard. Being very young, small, and skinny, I didn't dare cut in front of these huge construction workers to return my burger, so I waited. I returned the burger, explaining the problem, then waited a bit more. When another burger was handed to me, I discovered that it was the same burger, and most of the mustard had merely been scraped off with a knife or something, and the original burger had been returned to me. By that time, my lunch break was over. Because of the thoughtlessness of one young woman, I have never spent a penny at any Dairy Queen from that day till this. Not to mention any effect my badmouthing has had among various friends, neighbors, and acquaintances after all these decades. Rot in Hell, Dairy Queen!
