How do you not like Rory, he's pure class.

Apparently in person he isnt the nicest person in the world but those are rumours. I know a guy who was in a pub in Ireland after a tournament and Shane O Lowry (may have spelt that wrong) and Rory were both there. Shane was talking to fans taking pictures having beers with them etc. Rory sat with his entourage in the corner and wouldnt interact with anyone. Hes allowed to do tht but obviously gives him a bad rep.

I think basically he isn't an evil person, and he can't be considered a full-fledged problematic star, either. But he isn't exactly likeable, either. Mainly because of the way in which he dumped Holly Sweeney and Caroline Wozniacki. And his withdrawal from the Rio Olympics in 2016 didn't do his reputation any favours, either.

But yet despite this when he is doing well in a major it seems the crows love him and want him to win. Many top end athletes are a bit stand-off-ish from the public, probably because they have a life where they are mobbed wherever they go. I think he comes across well in the main and would really like to see him on winning form. Each to there own I suppose..

I’m always rooting for Tiger, but I wouldn’t be mad if Rory finally gets his green jacket this year. Love this kid

What an incredible journey and what a lovely young man Rory McIlroy has turned out to be, his parents must be so proud of all he has achieved.

Love that Rory never forgets what his life was like growing up before his fame and fortune. Doesn’t take anything for granted which makes him my favorite golfer ever.

I love Rory, he is so honest, even when it doesn't necessarily reflect well on him. I admire that, it's so rare. His mum and dad raised him right.

I grew up in the 80's emulating the sultry swing of my hometown superstar Freddie Couples, but Rory's swing is a piece of art and is a pleasure to watch again and again.

This video makes it clear that prodigies always have at least one person driving their dreams. This is very inspiring.

Question, when driving or hitting an iron is the drive through back foot lift up a must?

    • @spidey.bh1144
      @spidey.bh1144 4 роки тому +1

Yes, in order for proper rotation for the ball your back heel must come up on the toe and follow the rest of your body

One thought I've had recently is this... "Are there any pro golfers on the tour today that didn't play for a team in college?"
I'm 22. I've been playing golf since I was about 7 when I actually got into an almost fatal accident where me and my brother were hitting golf balls in my dad's yard and I was tired of walking to the other side of the yard when me and him would trade off hitting, so I stood on the same side as him, but I stood on his left side (we're both righty's) and on his follow through I got a golf club to the head and had to get a plate put in... but even after that, I still love the game. I played a little here and there with my dad coaching me and then I finally joined my high school golf team in my Junior year, but I think I only ever competed in one event and at that time I could only shoot around a 120. Now, I think I can shoot between 80 and 90 as long as I don't lose too many balls in the hazards... My main issue is I have trouble using my body to turn and "load" into my right leg to then fire off and "plant" my left leg to generate power because I'm 6' tall but only weigh ~125 lbs. I'm a skinny boy.
I don't have that many good courses near me to practice on and my local public course (Riverbend at Evun Breth Acres in Buckhannon, WV) has been in need of renovations for almost a decade now and seems to get a new owner every year who offers play for about a year or two then sells... and there's only one driving range within a 40 minute drive located at Bel Meadows Country Club, but it's not really even a range as much as it's just a patch of land to hit balls; also, it doesn't have targets to aim for and there's a mound/hill coming off the left side which then dips behind at around only 200 yards, so beyond that you won't see the ball land and last year the owner offered that land for sale and if someone buys it then there won't be any ranges near me. I really want to turn Riverbend into a place people will actually want to come to play golf (not fish in the ponds) as well as create a range that people can actually use to practice. One day I hope to make that happen.
    Ok... rant/story time over...

Tough these days. Most guys on tour played D 1 golf and they were good in college too. Some guys turned pro out out of high school (Kevin Na, Tony Finau, Rory...)
If you aren't one of the best amateurs in your city, state, province, country, might be hard to turn professional and make any money.
Easy way to think of it, if you can't win at the amateur level how are you going to win at the professional level.
There are countless guys who were really good amateurs and college players who turn pro every year, only to be selling insurance 3-4 years later.
Don't ever give up though, just keep improving every year, no one can take that away from you.
I would suggest trying to play as much amateur golf as you can now.
West Virginia? Sing up for the WV Am stuff.
      Good luck!

I certainly.would not root for Rory as he cannot keep his mouth shut politically here. A Mick shouldn’t complain about our leadership, keep it in Ireland damn’t.
