Rather, VSQ is a series of string quartet projects developed and produced by CMH Label Group, an independent record company based in Los Angeles. The CMH team works with an ever-evolving cast of arrangers, producers, string players and other creatives to bring each project to life. The series began unofficially in 1999, when CMH began releasing string quartet tribute albums on affiliate Vitamin Records. A few years down the road, this successful album set became known as “Vitamin String Quartet” or "VSQ”.
You guys make this 70-year-old professional classical musician want to play music again ... thank you !!!
Have you listened to the original song by Tool before? If so, that's awesome. I don't know many 70 year old Tool fans.
@@thekimfilez I hadn't until you suggested it -- so I did -- mind blown -- whoa: the words! It seems almost Middle Eastern to my ears. Thank you for caring to suggest! xoxo
@@fierywomanpacnw7004 You did?! That's amazing! Yes, their music is very progressive and almost tribal. There is so much metaphor and meaning behind the lyrics as well. The time signatures are wild.
@@fierywomanpacnw7004 I suggest listening to Tool - the grudge
Then listen to Vitamin Strings version of it, absolutely breathtaking. The song was clearly written with depth you just can't hear in the rock version of the song. If you can even call Tool rock. They are their own genre in my opinion.
@@xKapnKrunch Thanks! I'll check it out.
Turning Danny’s solo into raging strings, awesome!
I was totally waiting for that.... Glad they jumped in! lol
This just plays to my old soul. The emotion in every note. The fact you can hear they lyrics from the strings. How comfortable you all look performing this. I cant say enough positive things about this one. This should have a million views by the end of the week!
Big Tool fan! I'm not usually a big fan to these sort of covers. This one, though, is amazing! I thought, at first, that it needed some kind of percussion. I was completely wrong. The tension created by the choice to divide different vocal/instrumental passages between each musician made this so interesting. It produced goosebumps! Great Cover! Thanks
Absolutely brilliant! This draws out the emotion of the song.
I can't speak......i only can ear!!!!! Fantastic!!!! Playing this great song from the best band for me in the world!!!
This is magnificent. Do more of this please!
What a surprise.! Absolutely brilliant. I can hear the voice through your strings too. Just a little rhythmic section and this will be just perfect for my ears ;)
I'm a French little guitarist but the music is an universal language and I can hear you ❤️
Wow!!! Perfection! You had me hanging on to every note!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I Don’t understand why This cover does not have more views. This is amazing!
EXCELLENT! BRAVO! 👏 👏
Reminds me of an old Maynard interview where he said his voice was just another instrument in the band (I'm paraphrasing)
Why am I just finding these guys absolutely amazing!!!!
Kick ass! That was awesome! Thanks for performing and posting. Loved it❤
I used to be in a band and we covered many songs by Tool. Can't hold a candle to this. Well done
Poetry in motion. Controlled chaos.
Beautiful rendition
Beautiful, goosebumps
Only 22,900 views on this gem. Guess the tool army hasn't arrived yet. You guys should also do Right In Two.
I'm here
Tool Army will arrive.
Just.... just fucking brilliant. Excellent job.
Muy buen trabajo...amo Tool y hay muchos covers exelentes...este es uno de esos .
The only crime is that this isn’t at over 100k views yet.
Incredible performance! 💙🤘💚

Shadows stepped through.Beautiful.
Wow! Fantastic interpretation.
I didn't think it could work so well without drums.

Had to comment twice my heart was pounding by the end

You guys are Amazing!!! 💖🔮
Fucking amazing! Great job, you four!
okay but as a musician who loves tool music, yall got no clue how hard it is to represent D's vocal notes on string is.

Woow 😍😍
This was done so beautifully. I’m convinced this is the way the song is supposed to sound 😂
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Dope
Impressive.
this is sweet af
More please.
When you try to tell people that Maynard's voice is just another instrument in Tool, and they don't get it, have them check this out.
I feel like I am about to see Maynard sitting on The Iron Throne
Please a cover of Jackson Browne’s Somebody’s Baby. Having listened to some quarter versions of my favorite songs.
MOAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR
Your stream link for Spotify goes to an older Tool cover album that doesn't have this cover of Forty Six & 2. Will this rendition be available for streaming sometime?
Thanks Chris! We've fixed the link. It is most definitely on Spotify!
@@vitaminstringquartet But why it is not on Tidal?
I've been picking my scabs again
Wow
Tool....🤯
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ♡♡♡♡♡ FUCK YESS
That robot is pretty good on the violin.
I feel like if this was played any other way, it would be modernized.
I'm not usually a big fan of TOOL covers 'cause they kill the spirit of the band, but you guys nailed it. Impressive work
Cellist looks like Jack black
He gets that a lot😂
I know the pizzas fit.
Tool army.
bro at 5:30
This piece only holds up if you already know the original, and even that's debatable
Us against climte change
I rather lisen 2 da iland boyz!!!!
Yeah, that's not how it goes.
All these orchestra renditions use an instrument to imitate Maynards voice.....although TOOL composes the music without any thought of where lyrics would fit in
Amazing but way too many cross cuts... Visually not appealing
Pardon me for cursing please but that was fucking awesome My favorite Tool song I met Maynard James Keenan in a bar years ago He was totally cool
Amazing!!!! Waiting for more
