Really appreciate this video! I have a Grinch cutter but will NOT be selling anything I make with it. Very disappointing that companies do not disclose this. I should have known better but we all make mistakes. Thank you for your transparency. I love your shop and it’s become a favorite place for me to buy supplies. Nice to see the face behind the business! 😀💕
Just checking Minecraft is in fact TM but i recently bought a grid cutter, wondering if i can use it to inspire my own design, not to sell it but to make it for my son.
Good advice. Game of Thrones, everything Witcher, all Harry Potter, everything Marvel, up to and including the free form crochet doily my wife created last night... all copyrighted, or trademarked, all intellectual property owned and protected. Even trying to recreate an image or piece of jewellery that someone else stole from an image they saw on Pinterest is considered a violation. Yet Etsy is rife with it. Is noone original any more?
It can definitely be difficult to be truly original these days, but we can do our best. Unfortunately there are many who knowingly steal. Risking your own small business is your own business. I do take issue with other polymer clay tool creators selling stolen designs. We sell primarily to other small buisness. Selling designs that are copyrighted or trademarked, knowing full well that these tools will be used by our small business customers...it's just reckless and irresponsible. I don't understand how anyone would knowingly out their own customers at risk like that.
Also, not a lawyer, however, Steamboat Willie made it recently into public domain as did the older version of Winnie the Pooh. Do not make it look too much like the modern mouse or refer to it as “Mickey.” Second, the Pooh with a red shirt is a Disney detail and is still copyright infringement. It’s the book that’s public domain, not the Disney characteristics they have created and continue to promote. You’re really not just stealing the artist’s work but also all of the free marketing and advertising companies do to build their brands.

Thank you so much for your comment! This feels really important. I'm hoping we can start talking about it more as a community 💚
Thank you for this info. I just received my first purchase from you and I love the cutters excited to try them out

Technically they can some after you if you make anything for personal use as well, so I would highly suggest not posting anything about them publicly.
