I have never been interested in Christmas because it's an excuse for bad behaviour. I love stean galas because they depict the old comings and goings at mainline stations. @@williamtacey7770
A long but worthwhile visit to SVR. Enjoyable video throughout. The shots of 4930 first show Not to be Moved, the the notice had gone. LMS 2968 looks smart and runs well. Ian Allen records this Mogul class to have a greater TE than Black 5s. More please!
great video Phil loved it , some aewsome footage there matey looked a really busy day for you ,hope you got your brekky ok lol a great atmosphere as well , plenty going off thanks for sharing matey take care a t b syd 👍👌
It is noticeable how this railway footplate crews manage their engines differently to the Great Central, no constant lifted safety valves and blowing off excess pressure through drain valves, I would imagine the amount of fuel wasted on the GC is quite large in comparison, crews were told off in the 1950's for over firing locos.
Steam galas are the events when I member the comings and goings at mainline stations pre-1968. Full of atmosphere - sights, sounds and smells!
Christmas is all over because starting of early January last week

Excellent gala all round. No doubt will be a success next time.
Definitely David . I'm sure it will 🤞😀
Good video . Great to see the Severn valley is still thriving . Live just a few miles from it & have to get myself down there again .
Thanks, hopefully had a good year, after the past few
Hi Phil looks like you had a good day 👍Regards Phil.
Hi Phil , yes a great day. Best wishes 👍😀
All the locos were facing Kidderminster apart from 7812 Erlestoke manor which is the only loco facing Bridgnorth
Why is that
It will be great if and when they can get the turntable in at Bridgnorth
@@philclarke3203but there’s no turntable here
@@thebrummierailenthusiasts5329 no , not yet
Nice video I was on kiddiminster Viewing point again when 7812 was coming in I was the one walking down the viewing point
Thanks James, I'll look out for your video
Amazing what happened at the start but just wish I finally got to get a photo of 7569
Haha 7812, was taking ages to come in, so needed to get up a gear.😂

Excellent video, will you attend the GCR winter gala at the end of the month.
Thanks. Yes I'm hoping too 😀
No 75069 seems a rather reluctant starter ! Cold feet ?
Often take it slowly, coming out of Bridgnorth, to avoid wheel slip
I went on the Severn Valley Railway a few times from the 1970s to the 90s. Quite disappointed to see the coaches like that, they were always gleaming
Needs alot of hard work?
