- Bolt, who is now 11, was raised and loved dearly by a family who live in the mountains, alongside his brother Thunder. When Bolt and Thunder were attacked by a mountain lion-who was likely simply hungry and doing his best to catch a meal-Bolt was about to be carried off in the lion's mouth. Thankfully, Thunder's screams alerted their human mom who saved them. Bolt was seriously injured and took months to heal. Sadly his brother passed away shortly after from heart failure. Bolt was physically rehabilitated but his loving family worried about his safety and asked us to bring him to The Gentle Barn.
We will be helping him recover emotionally from the trauma and the loss of his brother while supporting him in his senior years with vet care, acupuncture, energy healing, music therapy, and, of course, lots of love. Bolt seems very sweet. What a terrible incident he survived and it’s so sad and unfortunate that he lost his brother soon after.
