But think about it. A weapon based action genre character that goes through the whole adventure with the most human of physical ills. It's comedically genius. Yeah you got Indiana Jones not walking off illness and having a phobia of snakes, but typically, you'd never see, like Dick Grayson or an agent of SHEILD, with chronic migraines or sumthin.😂
Even if you brush your teeth every day, habitual smoking, clenching your jaw due to stress and anxiety (makes small cracks in your molars that turn into cavities), and skipping years of cleaning appointments and check ups on your teeth can all cause tooth decay. I feel like jigen is the pragmatic group member who probably gets the most stressed out by lupins wild schemes. And not going to yearly check ups and tooth cleanings or other preventative appointments is common for single guys living rough and simple bachelor life. They tend to wait until things get dire to get medical care. I’m not saying he’s unhygienic. I think he brushes his teeth as he should and all that. More like too passive and unconcerned with his health. I just like how this running joke seems to fit him perfectly, very organic lol

Having tooth fixed by a professional: LOL, nope. Having the same tooth punched out in a fight: yes, please! But considering how much that tooth hurts, he'd probably have this tooth extracted anyway.

Lupin III Tokyo Crisis, if you havent heard of this series I def reccomend it, theres 4 parts (all indicated by his jakcet color however you can watch em in any order fr since its super episodic. though Part 1 and 2 are a bit more connected). The movies for the most part are alsk disconnected to the tv series, regardless of jacket color. Lupin III is so fun. the movies are hit or miss really just depends on your taste. but this is def one of the good ones. Castle of Cagliostro is a certified hood classic, Hayao Miyazaki's first movie as director. Fuma Clan Conspiracy, story is a little slow, and the Japanese VAs and music is different from the series, but thats mainly due to all the budget being used for animation (and the animation is super good) Farewell Nostrdamus similar in style and animation to Tokyo Crisis, also dubbed by Funimation. the series does get a bit raunchy and everyone's behavior is based on the director of the show/film at thwt moment. Lupin especially can go from goofy hornball to outright sexual harasser depending what youre watching (it is an adult show this is just a warning if thats all not to your taste) Fuma Clan and Cagliostro are definitely the safer movies when it comes to his behavior.
I actually like chris sabat's performance as jigen. Richard Epcar is perfect for the role don't get me wrong, but chris sabat does a good job matching jigen's overall attitude, in fact he almost sounds like a younger version of Epcar. I wish we could've gotten more of the funimation dub of Lupin because I really liked the cast (most notably from the women called fujiko mine cast as that was their best)

And wow: 2:28 Look at how hallowed out his tooth is... No wonder he's complaining... I am aware he eats steak. But I'm not even aware if he flosses his teeth afterwards. After brushing.
For dub I'm definitely more an Epcar fan but Sabat def had a really strong performance. Sounds so genuine lol the Streamline cast is pretty fun too (Bye Bye Lady Liberty, one of the Mamo dubs)
