- I am not an expert. Just some guy that likes tinkering around with things. Do what I do at your own risk!!! and if it work, awesome!!, if it doesn't, I am not responsible for it!!
100% worth fixing up.
Not if it was a domestic 😂 it would be on its last leg at 150k due to the poor build quality
I had owned the exact same 2008 Camry SE with the exact same engine. Mine had the oil burning recall and was fixed by the dealer. 130K miles after (it is now at 176K) and it still runs like brand new. This car is quiet and bulletproof, do not hesitate to fix it if it needs to, it will serve you forever.
Do they still repair now? I have the same model. Runs great and burns oil great too.
you should be in jail for stealing the car. lol
Not bad, these engines are known for burning oil so check the dipstick every few hundred miles to see if it is going down
Hate what they did with low compression oil ring around the pistons with the Camry 2007 to 2010. Same goes for the Honda 2.4L accord. Burning oil is a car owner’s nightmare.
When the 2.4 came out in 2002, Toyota had them pretty much perfect. Then in 2007, they went to those cheap oil rings and the oil burning started and ruined the engines pretty much.
They are still usable right?
@@hariranormal5584 keep changing oil more regularly. Eventually the burning of oil rate will increase over time. I started of 1 quart every oil change and over a period of 3 years It went up to 1 quart every 1000 miles. Then at the end of my 4th year. I was changing my spark plugs every oil change they were fouling up and started misfiring. Finally, after four years of trying every product in the market and even using thicker oil and keeping the rpm low while driving. I said good bye to the 2.4L engine. Was a nightmare experience for sure. Such a beautiful reliable car every thing worked perfect. I had no choice but to give up. What a shame Toyota.
From my own experience. It started of burning one quart every oil change. Then after the 3 years mark it kept increasing to 1 quart every 1000 miles. Tried every product on the market from liqui Moly piston ring cleaners and changing Pcv system also adding catch can. Nothing worked. The only thing worked for a while is using thicker oil and driving with low rpm. At the end of the 4th year my spark plugs were getting fouled up with carbon and was changing them with every oil change. The last blow came when the catalytic converter got clogged up with carbon from burning oil over the last 5 years and I got tired got rid of the car. Such a reliable car everything else worked perfect. But had to give up. What a shame Toyota. 😢
I bought a 2002 camry v6 for 4k with 204k miles, great shape.. took it on a 2500 mile road trip without a single problem runs perfect.
Motor mount in near future you can see it moving while you’re revving the engine but nothing major
As long as your transmission does not have any internal issues, changing the fluid is a good thing. The fluid holds all the dirt so changing it regulatory will keep it running a long time. I like to use Valvoline High Mileage Multi-Vehicle Full Synthetic ATF.
Hell yeah that was worth it. With the mileage and the year it makes sense.
love the quality of this video man sometimes i really get nice niche videos like this. 💜
Depends on how much you have to spend fixing it up. Just because something is a Toyota doesn’t mean it will last and be reliable
you’re absolutely correct but your odds are greatly improved.
Our 2005 Camery XLE sedan has over 324.000. And we are using a a little oil from time to time. We paid two thousand for it about two years ago. Body and frame is still solid. 😊
You got some of the cars I've own: a 2000 Nissan Sentra (manual), bullet proof little car before the French took over and start making crap then a 2011 Camry with the non oil burning engine, I bought $4,5k from my aunt, bullet proof too beside a torque converter shutter that I live with. Both great cars.
I'm surprised. Most sellers will hide the problems and charge the buyer 8k for this car. Later to find out that it's an oil burner.
Also next time dont go for conpletely clean trans fluid, you want some clutch material in there with that amount of mielage bc the torque converter clutches are worn down and you need some friction. Toyota tfsb bulletin on it. Just drain and fill at interval.
I have an 07 Camry LE 4 cylinder and you're very right about them being not fast, even my old 96 Previa can out sprint my Camry but it gets very good mpgs and cruises well. I got mine for $1600 from a friend with 130k miles because an old bag took out the rear quarter panel in the walmart parking lot, rebuilt title now but it didn't do much. I love the look of these SE body-kit Camrys, they look much better than the base model
I have a 2009 Camry XLE V6 and the dashboard is super sticky and reflects on the windshield just like this one and its literally impossible to clean since its a defective material so I had to buy a dash cover and it fixed the glare issue
Did the same to mines. I have an 09 le. Just replaced the alternator on it and catalyc converter and it runs beautifully
$2500 is a steal, perfect commuter car
I love the toyota Camry Vehicles. Wish I could buy this😅
Just the factory wheels alone are worth 1/2 of what you paid for the car.
seller regret why i cant sell my hyundai accent its paid off and works and i feel every month i get out of it is a month richer for me
So why was it misfiring???? Barely made it home ..... because of misfires....so what was it???
bad coils to say the least. got a bunch of videos on the channelngoing over all the repairs to include a commonly misdiagnosed one where I have seen people condem the engine when it was a easy fix. Def check them out
Tint is expensive in your area, and I'm from CA 😅
Dog keep the toyota trust me 😊
Best cars ever. Generally never need repairs. Have spent $300 on mine for 2 oxygen sensors in 4 years 60,000 kms.
Should have been fixed years ago. Was only a problem in America. Down here in the Antipodes no issues.
I feel like you're the younger me I owned an 04 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V with a 6 Speed Manual Transmission. Then I had an 07 Camry I totaled in twenty seventeen I bought the same Camry again in twenty twenty with a manual transmission. My Camry has 289,000kms.
man a spec v would of been sweet. I finally was able to flip up and get me a 04 silverado
Nice score.
I hate when a customer wants an alignment but got spanked lower control arms and they expect setting the toe and letting it go, its gonna ride like a new cadillac naaaaahhhhh.
😂😂😂😂
0-60 in 2 seconds? Thats not slow wymm??
What was the milage when the transmission service? Scotty Kilmer said not to mess with the automatic transmission if the fluius hasn't been changed in a very long time. Talking 10 years or more as the new fluid can cause the transmission to slip.
it showed 90k on the car fax
That car will last you the rest of your life if you want it to.
I had the v6 version.sell it. The car was smacked in the front. Not the original headlights etc
Where? pretty good deal for 1k. people in texas want 3k for worst condition camry
market place in NC
Wonder why they sold it so cheap? What was wrong causing you to have to limp it along? Does it burn oil? My 09 has 210K and has started to consume oil, time for a newer car I guess
check out the other videos on the channel. I went over all the repairs i did.
1k? what gun did you use?
How much did you spend fixing it up?
about 1500 but that included new tired. Def check out the videos on the channel of all the repairs!!
i found a local camry also for 1.5k$ ish, 2011 model, has gone 460K miles also. I dunno if i should get it rlly.
I would, if your mechanic savy, they are not bad to work on at all. I would just for the fun
Long before 200,000 miles if that was an American car, it would be worn out and on its last leg
Why r the lights in the cluster flickering like that.?
The camera does that
because of the camera.
What was done for 1500. Id do coils plugs fluids hoses belts
t Def check out the videos on the channel of all the repairs!! but it included new tires as well
What items needed to be changed ?
Def check out the videos on the channel of all the repairs!!
Very cheap materials inside
Why not explain what you had to fix mechanically. You mentioned a misfire. Weird you left all of that out.
i got videos on the channel showing all the repairs. Def check them out
hooptie!!!
Paying $1,000 for a non-broken Toyota Camry is not worth it
Why you say broken, mechanicaly perfect
So basically you got a modern Toyota Camry for $2500. Regardless of mileage, I could never see how you'd lose. #bulletproof
I won’t say it’s modern but yeah it’s a steal
@dartagnan1954 What's missing from this car that would make it modern to you though? In terms of tech it's only really short apple car play and android auto. I mean, in the 21st century, you won't be out of place driving a 6th gen camry, maybe even into 2030 easily
@@Enigmatic540 adaptive cruise control, led head lights ( the halogen sucks )
and looks wise obviously
@@dartagnan1954 haha, good point I agree
You should fix it and then sell the car and buy a new Honda civic
Mmmmm, fucking honda civic, what a trash of a vehicle '' HONDA,,
