To be fair this is probably one time when filming horizontally would cause problems. It'd probably stick out the sides too much messing with the rocket's aerodynamics.

4:10 something doesn't look right, it looks like artificial distortion added in post production rather than real vibrations that caused the jiggling.

Hey Grant,
I've had a lot of experience building high power rockets on a team which goes through the NASA design process and three teleconferences with NASA engineers. One major takeaway that I got from what the guys at NASA said is that any protuberance on a transsonic or supersonic rocket will generate a shockwave in the airflow around it. I'm sure you know what stability is, since you're launching an N-class rocket. That phone mount also had a really bumpy surface, so that combined with the shockwave could have an unpredictable effect on the center of pressure and make the rocket unstable, because you have the phone mounted so high up. Obviously the rocket wasn't unstable, but I just wanted to point out that it seemed a little sketchy to me, and a safer method would've been to either mount the phone to the fin can, below the center of pressure, or mount it inside a payload section of the rocket with a hole in it. Also, if you sanded the phone mount and had the transition from the body to the phone smoother and more aerodynamic, that probably would've been fine too, although the idea of it being above the center of pressure still makes me uncomfortable. One last point, duct tape and electrical tape isn't really sufficient and you probably should've screwed it on or epoxied it (screws are better). If you have any points against what I said, I would love to discuss rocketry with you; it's pretty much my life at this point.

Blexcubed if u want to remove a staple, just fold a piece of duct enough so that it is still super skinny but yet tough and just put it under the staple then use both hands and pull up the staple. See duct tape does solve staple probs.

The phone is about as tall as the rocket is wide, so put it in landscape would most likely make it impossible to safely mount it to the side.
If he had done the video in landscape mode then you wouldn't have gotten to see the footage because the phone would probably be broken.
