  • This Fretless Slider Cigar Box Guitar is made from a Railroad Tie. Care was taken to preserve the grease, tar, creosote and dirt in order to maintain the smell and odor of the train tracks. The position markers were placed according to the harmonic series. This CBG features a single coil, a 3 way switch , an under the saddle embedded piezo, a grounded golden hinge string catch, volume control, internal bracing, internal reverb spring, super awesome Avo Uvezian cigar box, open gear black tuners and an attached strap. This video explores the sounds produced by different slides. The strings are .044 .034 and .026 gauges and I'm tuned E B E. The amp I plugged into is the newly acquired VOX Mini5.

My favorite slide is a 3/4 inch copper T connector. I have allot of slides, bottle necks, sockets and expensive glass but that .79 cent piece of copper sounds the best.
    Your guitars are AWSOME.🎸😎

Oh! When you first said "railroad tie" I pictured a railroad rail. *Smack* (Palm to my forehead) I thought - even a little piece would be too heavy to work with.

I could never play slide on six string. But on 3strings I found it much easier. I guess what Del says is true. Six strings is three strings too many

The 23 at scale like your Railroad tide model doesn't have to be that but quality Hardwood with frets again I would pay you kindly for your effort I am a Navy veteran so anything American would be great as far as the Box goes I think your railroad tide model sounded outstanding

I'd love to try one myself. God bless, Davy.

"Injoying" the Intonation, Dell, but I do spot that poor little Roland Micro Cube Amp sitting sad and lonely on the floor, facing the wall in the Dell Shed, now abandoned in favour of the new; kid on the block/king of the hill; VOX Mini5 Rhythm Amp. Maybe we should start a collection for abandoned Micro Cube Amps,. I can start with a couple of volume and tone control knobs, and a bundle of string cut-offs, and screw bolts, thrown into the collection jar. Micro Cubes; Long lost, but not forgotten.....😢....😢...!....Take care, all!....😅.....😅.....!

The fretless ones are easy to make. The most simple one is probably, the uncle crow cbg. There is a tutorial on UA-cam. Recently I have added tuning pegs, instead of eyebolts.

Here's the thing with 3-string cigar box guitars: you DO know how to play, you just have not done it yet. If you love music, give yourself a couple of weeks of REGULAR practice to get that muscle memory and you'll be off.

  • @davidclink2032

I've built several but I can't play them much at all. I thought G,D,G would allow playing G,D,C easy but not as easy as I hoped. Course I suck at a 6 string too and I built 7.
