I built a fretless cbg recently and being a bass player I was amazed of the "mwah" sound you get.

How do you choose springs? Are they tuned to a certain pitch &/or are they in harmony with one another? Are the springs connected electrically in any way or are they just passive?

Cool video, thanks. I don't know if it would make much difference, but have you tried switching the springs so that the higher pitched spring is on the treble side of the guitar and the lower pitched string on the bass side? I know some acoustic guitar makers stiffen the treble side of the sound board.

Specifics a side, I think we all have brain farts once in a while. I personally seem to be having them a little more often as I age.

Do you get those springs on reverb ? At this point, I would forget the springs and the strings. Thanks for the video.

this sounds interesting, popped in my mind: acoustic fretless bass with spring inside haha every experimented with that? just curious

I think it sounds better without the springs. JMO

Fortunately one can simply put some cotton in the spring to mute it... then remove it to enable it again...

So, contemplating not moving the bridge. Assume you may mark the location or fasten it in some way? Fearful of slippage when changing strings. Don't think I've seen that addressed in prior vids... Thanks! PS I look kinda like Santa Claus...lol
