    It took me a while to figure out how it works. The only problem is when I take out the blend because It starts feeding back through the amp. When i turn the blend all the way to 3 o'clock I don't get any feed.

    How to kill the noise that occurs when the tone is muted by gentler playing.
    I already know from experience that noise gate devices can not help.
    Is there any other solution to this problem?

    I am curious why the compressor is noisy when turn on... can you explain it? I will change my mind from buying that pedal if it has noisy problem

  • @dr2675
    @dr2675 5 років тому +8

    As the chord is sustaining you hear a very noticeable jump in volume. He never mentions it.

    • @KazKasozi
      @KazKasozi 5 років тому +1

      That is the compression on his recorder. Seems like he is using an on board mic on the camera. Commonly these tend to have some kind of undesirable compression that isn't even mentioned by the manufacturer.

    • @diamonddavemc
      @diamonddavemc 5 років тому

      Yup. I assumed it was from the camera. There's no way he'd not notice it if it was the pedal.

    What's causing the spike / jump in volume right at the onset of the decay 1:59 and 2:59 ? Is that another effect (i.e. noise gate).
    I worry how this would work for ambient pads.

    • @bwm5150
      @bwm5150 5 років тому +1

      You can hear a little spike when he plays without the compressor on too at like 1:26. Maybe something to do with how he’s recording (camera mic etc).

    • @josephfelice601
      @josephfelice601 5 років тому

      @@bwm5150 Yeah! I think it might be a noise gate.

    What's causes the slight pause and increase in volume towards the end of the chord sequence around 2:11?

    • @65Superhawk
      @65Superhawk 5 років тому

      I noticed this too. Hope that is not the SP

    • @stevemineer2857
      @stevemineer2857 5 років тому

      I had a Tech 21 compressor that did the same thing and even worse. You could hear steps of volume increase as it sustained instead of a smooth increase.

    • @lonkennedy
      @lonkennedy 5 років тому +1

      IF you listen closely- it happens at least once or twice when the compressor is OFF listen at 3:46 after the second pick strike. I think that the rise in volume is from the the camera mic limiting. This happens a lot with YT videos when amp is not recorded with a separate mic through a mixer. You can tell because the guitar sound has the same room sound as Jay's voice- it is not close mic'ed.

  • @rom661
    @rom661 3 роки тому

    This was strange on the first compression example. Both times I heard the chord regenerated. I guess it could be something else doing it but sounded weird.

  • @glguitarman
    @glguitarman 3 роки тому

    I’ve had this pedal for years. I like it, but it’s noisy as hell. You can even hear it in this video.

    • @skittlesstarburst4532
      @skittlesstarburst4532 2 роки тому

      That’s the distortion left on... when you heard the noise it’s not the compressor. It’s when he used the gain pedals. Sounds like you use cheap cables and have crappy electronics in the guitar.

    • @glguitarman
      @glguitarman 2 роки тому

      @@skittlesstarburst4532 sounds like you are some sort of expert, and a keen observer of detail. Yes captain obvious, most compressors add more noise when used with an already distorted signal. Though I like it, the noise with this particular pedal is more pronounced, in my opinion.
