    Cool, thanks for sharing, I don't ice fish in the South, but I got some ideas for building a portable Fish Finder Box for pond hopping with different boats.

    1 of those batteries lasts me all Winter having charged it once.
    You could easily lose one and cut the weight even more.

    What’s the model # of your humminbird graph and the ice transducer you bought? I was looking at purchasing the most basic humminbird graph and adding it to my ice shuttle I just couldn’t find the right ice ducer for it and from watching this video I’m looking to buy the exact same unit you have

    • @LadyBass

      This is the helix 5 - gen1 standard sonar model and the XI 9 20 ice transducer. If you buy a unit with CHRIP (i run a helix 7 with CHIRP now), theres also an option of the XI 15 21 CHIRP transducer. The 15 20 transducer is faster, and has better target separation in shallower/grassy water, but the 9 20 has the option for a wider come option, which i prefer in deeper water when im walleye/lake trout fishing since i can see them further away and try to call them in.
      I currently use the helix 7 chirp with the 9 20 transducer, but thats just my preference right now!

    Awesome setup! I set my hummingbird up in the exact same way for ice fishing too. Btw do you have any tips for people who don’t have sleds and cant be as mobile on the ice, what kind of structures/depths to look for when ice fishing for whitefish or trout? Thanks!

    Hey Isabella.. Have fun in Cuba! A question about the Dakota Battery. I almost bought the same battery last year for my setup. The only reason I didn't is someone said I need a specific charger for Li-Ion Batteries. What do you use for a charger? Thanks!

      @LadyBass  4 роки тому +1

      White Dog Outdoors yes you do. I bought the one from the dakota lithium website, i also have one off amazon that works

    Hey LB just wondering if you need to insulate the bottom of the box to make the batteries last longer? I have a similar setup but with lead acid batteries, and mine would always die in a couple of hours on the ice.

    • @LadyBass
      @LadyBass  4 роки тому

      No, i do not insulate the box and i have no issues with my dakota lithium dying - even after a day of fishing i only plug it in for a bit before its 100% again! The dakota lithium is actually insulated itself which helps a lot in the cold!

    It seems the Amped Outdoors lithium battery vs. Dakota Lithium seems to be the way to go currently? At least the versions that are meant to be a direct size replacement most ice flashers use (7-9Ah)? Amped Outdoors offers a lithium 12Ah for $10 less than Dakota's 10Ah ? And Amped Outdoors includes free shipping, while Dakota costs $10. Unless I'm missing something, you end up paying Dakota $20 more for a 2 Ah smaller lithium battery?

    • @LadyBass
      @LadyBass  4 роки тому

      Rick Cooke im not familiar with the amp outdoors product. Some of the lithium batterys i have seen are not a direct size replacement. The dakotas also insulted, so it does better for the cold weather. If you order off cabelas.ca if you live in canada, its free shipping aswell
