    So decided I would buy a Spray Gun with a higher pressure rating as a backup for my mobile detailing business. I originally had an MTM Hydro SGS28. My SGS28 has been a workhorse and has never let me down. I paired it with the MTM 20" Stainless Lance with the 15* tip.
    Both the Lance and the SGS28 both have stainless steel quick disconnects and nipples. This pairing is pretty much the gold standard in my opinion for any detailer. These seem to hold up better than the Mosmatic versions too, so plus to MTM for that.
    The new spray gun that I purchased is the new SGS35 from MTM Hydro. It's a part of their new Acqualine product lineup that they unveiled at SEMA in November of 2019. This line is apparently geared towards being manufactured in a way so that it could be used in OSHA & FDA Regulated Food Production Facilities. The plastic is BPA free and the entire system is designed to be leakproof so that chemicals can't work their way into the plastics and contaminate food. At least that's my understanding anyway.
    The SGS35 has been beefed up significantly in comparison to its SGS28 counterpart. The assembly has been upgraded to 3/16th Stainless Steel, to hold up for longer and to prevent corrosion. This spray gun also encompasses the forever loved live swivel but you can purchase it without them if you would like. Honestly, nothing is worse than getting tangled in a pressure washer hose around a car. The live swivel prevents that.
    The SGS35 is also rated for up to 5000PSI input. The internal valve body is nickel-plated brass which again prevents corrosion. The Ball Valve and Seat are also made of 3/16th Stainless Steel.
    Just comparing the SGS28 and the SGS35 bodies side by side - the SGS35 is significantly larger. The "strap" groove in the grip is also significantly less aggressive on the SGS35, which will make keeping control of the spray gun easier. This also ultimately improves the ergonomics and thus decreases the pained "detailers wrist" pain we all get in the thumb area. The finish on the SGS35 is smooth and clean. I guess you could call it matte or maybe satin.
    The New 20" MTM Acuqaline Lance is rated for hot water applications as well. It features a vented clamshell-style handle so that when you use hot water, you won't burn your hand. It, of course, features the new super slick bright blue color. It is significantly lighter than the original MTM 20" Lance with the injection-molded handle. That is again because the handle on the lance is vented and spaced and doesn't sit directly on the water pipe.
    As for the Lance, I think that the original MTM 20" lance would be better suited FOR BUSINESS DETAILERS since the handle is injection molded, which ultimately means that it will hold up better to knocks, dings, and drops. Also, it may even be overmolded. I didn’t ask MTM, so I don’t know for sure.

    I’m thinking about buying this. And through the link you provided it’s 10 dollars cheaper to begin with, plus another 10 off. Sounds like a Homerun. Maybe you can help me out... I’m on the fence with this and the SG35 which is basically this product just not stainless steel and no QC’s. If I get the bare SG35 do I have to also buy the swivel with it? Like am I better off just getting the SGS35 like you have with everything included on it?

    • @TotalDetailing
      @TotalDetailing  4 роки тому +1

      Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Honestly, it's just easier to buy the SGS35 because the hardware is already installed and sealed and is stainless steel. It was less crap for me to do and other stuff to buy. The swivel is also internally threaded and not just a QD fitting. You could install your own QD inlet nipple but it wouldn't be the internally threaded style, meaning that the nipple can bind under pressure and not allow rotation of the hose. In closing - SGS35 just for ease of use.

      Total Detailing all good, thank you for responding. I actually, because of your video, ended up ordering one for myself with the discount code. It’s already on the way supposed to be here this weekend. And after doing some research you’re completely right. This gun has all of that installed and if I bought a bare SG35 by the time I bought all of the fittings plus tax I’d be at just under what the SGS35 costs me. The machine I’m working with is a dewalt 4000 psi 3.5 gpm so this sprayer is more than enough to handle that. Thank you for the awesome and informative video as well as your input. • @TotalDetailing

      I find the trigger on the SGS35 to be more tactile and rugged for commercial use. I use it everyday, throw it around, drop it, drag it around and it keeps on chugging. The SGS28 wouldn't hold up to that.

      Drew, I disagree with his assessment saying the SGS28 won't hold up to commercial use.
