- As from 2014, all newly registered vehicles must meet the requirements of the EURO 6 emission standard. In comparison with EURO 5, EURO 6 means a further reduction in NOx emissions by 80 percent and a reduction in the permitted particulate mass by 66 percent.

To achieve the low emission, people uses pp to break down NOx into nitrogen and oxygen!!! Amazing!
With due respect if Urea/ DEF is not re-filled then what, will it work to sustain for E6?
I would design it such that engine should not start if Urea/ DEF is low or empty in tank.

I believe I've read some where, at least for pick-ups, the engines goes into a "limp" mode which severely restricts power.

This will shorten the life of Diesel engine...also very high maintenance cost...Good luck
Joe Not sure, I know that a 5 year old Euro 6 MAN engine is still going strong and it’s had a lot thrown at it. Only time will tell how much longer it’ll last.
Not having an emission controll system shortens life of a diesel engine down to start of commertial sales and srortens manefacturer's life down to prison sentense
well, diesel engines reduce our lives, so i guess people are more important.
Everything over Euro 4 is unnecessery
go and live in a city with euro 3-4 cars. You'll change your mind that "everything over euro 4 is unnecessary"
