- This video features New York, Susquehanna & Western's No. 3040 running "light" from Sangerfield NY heading back to the Susquehanna 's Utica Yard.
No. 3040 is first seen at Greens Crossing Road, Paris, then as vt blasts by the former DL&W Chadwicks station.
After picking up two boxcars off the Utica industrial line, the short freight is observed on Utica's Schuyler Street under rainy conditions.
Title is a reference to the Three Dog Night song: • One Is The Loneliest N...
Seems to be very well-maintained track for a branch line.
Thanks for being out there again and MERRY CHRISTMAS !
Love these video's you do with a little local info and history. Thank you for building these :)
Neat color scheme of locomotive!
A fantastic video of the freight train driving on the road. Great film, thanks for sharing and all the best for the New Year. Many greetings from Germany
Good stuff -- loved watching you follow that local down Schuyler Street, had not seen that perspective before!
Also liked the rain and the old buildings, not enough of that here in San Diego, reminds me of my home grounds in North Jersey, which I miss. Thank you sir!
Awesome video I like Susquehanna Railroad i have the engines in Ho scale. Alright. 👍✅🎥
Great video love those Mechinicle bells have not heard them for a while.
Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and betold
Oh so happy for a new video! Hope you and Witold had a Merry Christmas. Have a Happy New Year as well.
Happy Holidays from an equally snowless Tallahassee, Florida!
Cool!!! I got footage of some old diesel thing that had to be at least 50 or 60 years old in the NY subway line (the above ground portion) It was so cool. I haven't uploaded it yet. I'll try to find it and post it. It had those really old 1940s style lights on it and stuff. I love seeing old diesel engines still being used. It sounded awesome, too. Got video of it idling and then moving on
Hey rail rambler hope you had a great Christmas.
Greetings and to the promise of the coming of the new year from Tonawanda New York!
Enjoyed the video! Hope you and Witold had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both!
Merry Christmas, John!
Wow, you made it ahead of him even though he was running light. Always liked that song ! I find your video quality good, let us know when you change so we can monitor the difference.
Happy New Year !
Wife and I have been home visiting family in Utica, New Hartford and Sauquoit for the past 2 weeks and thought we might be lucky enough to catch you out filming somewhere, but have not seen you out and about. We are heading back home to Texas tomorrow so we'll have to try to see if we can catch you on the next run sometime during our next visit in early summer '24. Until then happy filming! And don't even start about talking about pot smells. The 1st rental car we were given at the Syracuse airport this trip was just reeking of it!!!
Happy Holidays to you and Betold
No snow in Irondequoit NY here in Sea Breeze.
Great video from Okeechobee Florida.
Great video 🎉Hey man that train ran a stop sign 😂😂
That looks fun! I know it is serious business but I would love to ride on this train. Very nice video!
Thank you for all your videos, best wishes for 2024🙃
Thanks, best wishes to you as well.
Go shopping or follow a train. Go with the train. It will it be raining again Thursday in Milwaukee no snow on the ground. I enjoyed the last minute of Street running going by the old Warehouse pass the flashing Crossing signal and street lights. Easing our way towards New Year's Day
As always, appreciate your comment!
Wonderful, thanks.
Yup. We don’t get any snow here at the southern end anymore
That was awesome, great stuff! (Dave).
Awesome vid.
Hey Rambler! Greetings from Rome NY! I plow for Town of Lee and have to say been pretty easy December so far it’s been almost 2 weeks since we plowed
Yes, doesn't look like anything's on the way anytime soon either. Nice to hear from you, thanks for commenting.
RIP Richie Evans!
Did you see the 3 Adarondack units depart utica today headed west bound behind CSX units?
By the Fairport camera at 00:20
A great video as usual. What commodity does the boxcars deliver/pickup on this line.?HAPPY NEW YEAR from Kamloops, B.C.
I think Sangerfield would mainly be animal feed such as corn and grain.
Yeah since it's got the grain mill or as I like to call it the "co-op"
Those boxcars contain 500 lb bales of paper (or so I was told years ago) for Oneida Warehouse in New Hartford (paper is used for magazines, ads & the like).
No snow in central Maine either & no complaints
Odd year that's for sure. We got so much rain the other day it would have been 20-24 inches of snow if it was cold enough.
Is there a fine or jail time if you're caught spraying graffiti on rail cars ??
Probably trespass/criminal mischief but I rarely hear of anyone being caught.
Hi RR
Is the rail line maintained from Cassville to Richfield Springs ? Any traffic?
Also is the Susquehanna line line open between Waterville and Binghamton ?
Just curious
happy New Year
Still watching from Rome, NY. They were moving right along! Did you notice the yellow areas on the tracks? Were those joint bars? Or sensors?
I was once told that those markings are for the benefit of the train crew--by the time those spots are reached, the crossing protection should be activated.
@railroadingrambler218 Thank you for your reply, much appreciated!
Wow.
Hello! Did you ever reach out to John Taibi? I may just take a ride out to Munnsville!
