That semifinals performance will always be one of my most treasured memories. I’ll never forget hearing Great Gig in the Sky live in that stadium and bawling my eyes out. Thank you Bluecoats and thank you Kyle🙏🏼❤️
as a snare drummer growing up in Burnsville, Mn I’ve literally watched you grow up as a percussionist. From Eden Prairie to The Bluecoats, thank you for being a true inspiration to the younger generation. You’re the true definition of a role model, Kyle. All the best 👍🏼
A few years ago, I got to play drums (drum set) with my old rock band at a local club. We hadn't played together in almost 25 years. As soon as the first note was played that night, it was like we were 20 years old again. It is one of my most treasured memories.
As you get older, memories will fade and friends will be lost. It is easy to take things for granted. You do a great job of documenting things and "taking it all in".
Yesss!!! Thank you for doing this for those of us who participated but were awful with documentation! I was “really lucky” to march with you!

Dude Kyle you’re such an inspiration to me. As I start my drum corps packets for upcoming auditions, I watch these videos for inspiration and I know that no matter what happens it’s always about fun when all is said and done, so I can’t wait!

The akron show was my first ever DCI show. I was kinda uset about the weather, was still happy to see the standstill. I remember seeing the alumni come out for like 10 minuetes, I was wowed.

Man, I really enjoyed watching this. I'm a Bluecoat, 04-06, I unfortunately couldn't participate in the alumni corps. I'm really freaking proud to be involved with such an incredible organization.
My school left the akron show soon after it started raining so I didn't get to see you guys sadly. However it might be for the better since the lack of oxygen underneath the stands, combined with how awesome I saw you guys were in the semi-final, I think I would've fell to the ground and not gotten back up.
You don’t know me but I marched way back in the early 2000’s. I wasn’t able to make it down for this but it warmed my heart to watch this video. Thank you. Bloo forever.

Watching this for the second time! Love it so much! It was such an honor to march along side you and everyone else last summer.
I remember being in the stands that night for age out night with all the other age outs and pushing my way all the way to the 50, still in uniform just to be able to see y’all’s show head on live. Was definitely one of my favorite memories from my whole summer, getting to see electric counterpoint and great gig in the sky live again and tearing up like a baby. Even though I ended up marching somewhere else, The Bluecoats hold a special place in my heart for helping me fall in love with this activity. The energy was electric that night and you guys absolutely killed it. Thank you🥲

Drum corps is one of the few things that seems to always give back more than you put in. I have never had the opportunity to march DCI before going into the Air Force as a career, but my sticks, pad, pirated sheet music and DCI tapes/DVDs have always been with me since my first exposure to corps in 1994. I finally got to go to the big show this year, but only on prelim day. Regardless, it was still a check on the bucket list!

It was truly amazing to see so many people show up to participate. What a fantastic show you guys put on thanks for your behind the show footage. What an amazing feat the blue coats accomplished just to get all you guys together! You guys rock.
It’s crazy I’m seeing this a whole year later. Watching this just made so many memories come back. Even from the rained out show in Akron 😂. I will tell you me who was sitting in the age out section, even though we were on the the side watching we were all screaming watching you all. It was crazy over there in age out land. Sometimes it’s great to go back to March I wish mandarins did it but our alumni corps ain’t that big yet but we are getting close. Keep it going broooo

Thanks for posting this and making the recordings.. such a fun reminder of a wonderful experience. It was great to hear a few spots of our bass drum parts that were completely lost behind the absolutely amazing brass section.

19 snares must have been fun to try to clean, center must have felt like a mile away..lol.
I find it funny that we warmed in that exact same room, and probably had the funniest high school warmup ever. One of our snare in one of the goofiest voices goes to the bathroom and ended up being in there for almost the enitirety of our warmup and when he came back my man looked like a husk. It's sick to know you guys also have memories of those rooms :)

I have a question for anyone who knows. I’ve always really been wanting to play quads in dci, but always been amazed and shocked at how they learn the first few pieces in a matter of days. Do you get the music to learn before the camp at all?
As someone who goes to akron, and has for the past 4 years, hearing ( 7:48) "we have access to a dining hall for our meals" said in a positive tone... avoid robbs like the plague if you go here lmao

Even the alumni corps has amplified sound effects? I am not sure even a nuclear war would cause drum corps back to being totally acoustic at this point.
Phantom regiment doesn’t mic their corp at all. They are one of the few who believes in acoustic.
