Rawlins didn't pass his promotional exams, he was incompetent according to one Major General. The killings of the Army Generals initiated by JJ and his juniors colleagues were senseless and barbaric. When you allow someone who couldn't pass his promotional exams and couldn't rise in ranks to lead a military then you're doomed. Sad day in Ghana history.

It was a spontaneous action by junior officers, just as Rawlings said in his announcement. It wasn't premeditated, calculated or planned. Soldiers were rebelling against their officers.
But some few officers like Cpt Baah Achamfour were with the ranks on field fighting ..
