Bought this on cassette when it first came out in 1994. Played the whole thing sides a & b. Reminds me of high school days in my white thunderbird which was a 88. Good durable car good on gas, oil & everything. My first car actually. Had a great cassette player. CDs were too much expensive too buy at the time. Cassettes cheaper. Car was a graduation gift from my Dad. Got it early though so I could drive to school my senior year. My friend at the time was Mark J. He rode in it. He originally was from Idaho. Last time I saw him was 1999. Good times the early 1990s.
Love the spiritual view. Acknowledgement of there is God, things down here are not perfect. Knowledge comes from within, not from the poison of us of this earth
The is an anti church song..selling the drama..the Bible is the drama. To fear a flame (fear hell) it’s essentially about a guy on a megaphone(Christian leaders) talking about the Bible(BS)
He talks about earning the ransom from up here. He can't earn the ransom. Jesus paid it for him. I hope he receives Christ. The gospel is the good news of what Jesus has done for us already. Believe on the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for your sins and you shall be saved 1st Corinthians 15:1-4
This song was played at my high school graduation ceremony. That was in 1996 and it still gives me chills to this day. I'm proud to be part of such an amazing generation. Pretty awesome...❤
Sometimes if I've lived through the zenith of human musical artistry and it's been declining since the early 90s. Truly great, moving songs seem to be getting rarer.
To me it feels like grunge & the alternative rock music of the 90’s might be considered some of the best music ever made. I often thought nothing would compare to the 60’s & the way music made you feel & think. But I do believe that much of the 90’s music was on par with the 60’s because the depth & thought given to the music is pretty phenomenal! STP & Bush, Nirvana.. Chris Cornell.. LIVE… have all put out Incredible, thoughtful stuff!! Thanks to them all for filling our hearts & souls🔥
I’ve been searching for this song for years. I remember the chorus and thought it was a dream or my mind made it up as a pastiche of 90s alternative tropes. Song Pop brought me here and I’m thankful for it putting an end to that quest
Reminds me of losing my grandfather in 94 Being abused by my mother Talking on a pay phone Writing hand written letters Feeling sad but free & not so attainable like now.
I was busy raising my babies this time of my life, my baby brother listened to this music, I relate to it know. Christopher is 9 yrs younger then me. He graduated in 1996. I ask myself were was I, they never played Grunge on the radio. I missed alot of great music, Lithium on dish. Great music.
I'd heard this song 1 time on the radio a few years ago, loved it, but, the bands name wasn't mentioned. I had thought maybe they said it was the guitarist from Bon jovi, I can't think of his name right now. As soon as I hit 'comment" it will come to me. Finally, somebody told me who it is, and what song going by me mentioning some lyrics
Let me tell you something, the escalating guitar chords and Ed's charging vocals are one of the best ever in rock music. 2:40 Just listen the guitar only and tell me you don't get a rush!
What a great tune! Makes me miss the 90s, I remember when this song came out, EA NHL 94 for the genesis, cracked rear view from hootie and the blow fish, spice gals rrrrrr...

This song was played during the murders in Snow Town of 8 people by John bunting, Robert Wagner and Jamie vlaskiss. Little know fact and how dreadfully sad.
And to love, and lost And to feel, the pain And to bare, a crown that has a name And to right, a wrong And to weak, or strong It is known, just screams off the wall I've willed, I've walked, I've learned I've taught, I know, I know I've been here before Hey, now there won't be rage Hey, now we won't be scarred like that Hey, now there won't be rage Hey, now we won't leave scars like that It's the song that burns It's the wheel that turns It's the way, that gets us thru the day And to Christ, a cross And to me, a chair I will sit, and bare all the pain from down here I've cried, I've walked, I've preached I've fought, I know, I know I've been here before Hey, now there wont be rage Hey, now we won't be scarred like that Hey, now there won't be rage Hey, now we won't leave scars like that Days like that And to love, and lost And to feel, the pain And to burn, a love that has a name I've willed, I've walked, I've learned I've thought, I know, I know I've been here before Hey, now there wont be rage Hey, now we won't be scarred like that Hey, now there won't be rage Hey, now we won't be scarred like that Hey, no no We won't be scarred like that We won't be scarred like that
A great song, kind of sounds like it is talking about the repetitive unnecessary components to life... Like the how life sells you a different version of the same shit over and over again.
Now im 2024 and all that is coming out about Hollywood and the music industry a lot of this song are in a different light. Sad they all had to take the oath of 51 and 33 to get in. If you know than you know what i mean
Look I already have enough ppl wondering about my love live so if whoever does completely betray shit on me that there karma and I don't know if I can still try with whoever that for her to recognize and know I'm not going that way just because ❤
Today is february 7, 2024. And still listening this 90's good music.❤🤘

And to love, and lost
And to feel, the pain
And to bare, a crown that has a name
And to right, a wrong
And to weak, or strong
It is known, just screams off the wall

Hey, now we won't be scarred like that
Hey, now there won't be rage

It's the song that burns
It's the wheel that turns
It's the way, that gets us thru the day
And to Christ, a cross
And to me, a chair
I will sit, and bare all the pain from down here
I've cried, I've walked, I've preached
I've fought, I know, I know
I've been here before
Hey, now there wont be rage
Hey, now we won't be scarred like that
Hey, now there won't be rage
Hey, now we won't leave scars like that

And to love, and lost
And to feel, the pain
And to burn, a love that has a name

Why, what do they mean?
INSPIRING!!!
this song kicks major ass!
Great tune!!
York county boys done good
Lyrics are correct for once. They usually dodged "won't be raped" and say "raised". Karaoke versions all do that. The word goes far beyond physical.
rip 90s
I always thought this was a REM song :O
Maybe their most '90s-sounding song--and that's not a bad thing.
