I enjoyed Novelists older stuff but I think this is a step up in songwriting quality. During the extended chorus the snare shift from the 3 to the 4 keeps the 2nd half feeling fresh and the solo is so damn tasteful.

I'm a bit conflicted.I like Novelists, Souvenirs is probably what opened me up to Djent when I previously disliked it.Alazka has been my favorite band for a year and didn't know they broke up till I just saw Tobias in the video and looked up their Facebook and they broke up way back in September and I never saw the post. I'll definitely follow Novelists more than I did before but it's bittersweet.Phoenix is a masterpiece and will forever be on my playlist

I really like this song! I think it’s time for them to change up their sound, I liked the last album, but I kinda slept on it because it was just hitting the same note as their other music. I’m ready for something new from them! Also have never heard of the new singer, but I feel like he really fits with the bands vibe so I’m into it!

I'll always miss the old singer. To me, it's what made novelists...novelists haha! That being said, there are definitly some similarities to both singers. That breakdown was awesome, but i'm a sucker for an emotional solo. So for me the solo was the part i enjoyed the most. Great reaction 👍

Some of my favorites are Gravity, A Bitter End, Stranger Self, Joie De Vivre (features Jesse Cash of ERRA/Ghost Atlas), Lead the Light and Somebody Else.

A lot of modern metal seems to have an issue (at least for me) where the song has some cool shit going on, but then a super generic and forgettable chorus that seems to be there for obligatory reasons more than anything.
Souvenirs will always be my favourite and Matteo is the man. But I have to admit I dig the chrous, but, at the same time, matteo always gave this cinematic influence. Im torn!
