This song in particular is incredible! The eighties sounds have not dated and sound better than modern equivalent synth of today. These are a hidden gem for people of my age group.
Some samples are just immortal. I read that Boris creates all his own samples and has a library of over a hundred thousand. Imagine the textures that float through this guy's head on an average day.
I already recognized it at the very moment I heard this an following songs! That was when it was published on the radio channels. I was a teenager at that moment. I am 54 years old now.
@@HANSMKAMP This is great but unfortunately any song/artist must break in the US too to earn those well-deserved trillions. And now I'd like to here Putin's comment on this...

Everybody remembers "Oh Yeah", but I forgot about this gem. Just listening to this song again for the first time in decades and I feel the same way now as you did back then!

Who else remembers K Tel records? They could have made an Lp of "weird dumb songs, "this would be on it! There were so many good/bad ones! Sparks, all you ever think about is sex..M's "Pop Musik." etc.
First id heard this on the radio I laughed myself out of breath thinking it was the girlfriend constantly telling the boyfriend that she loves him. The boyfriend, sick of hearing it says: you’re gonna give me a heart attack! Turns out, the song's about driving safely. 🤷♂️
So effin' hot. A major double entendre for "driving"! Boris B. somehow is able to look over at his girl and simultaneously straight ahead at the road: awesome 1000 meter stare @2:57! Supernatural!
True, and it seems like a lot of electronic artists did. I think it's because music technology was starting to become too easy and "clean" at that point. Working within the limitations of more primitive samplers/drum machines/etc sparks a more unique space of creativity, gives the music more character. There's a reason why people these days hunt down old Fairlights and LinnDrums and use those instead of modern sample libraries on a Mac which just sound too "perfect" in a lot of cases, and doesn't inspire the same creative workflow.
This is definitely in my top three favourite art-synth love songs about road safety.
I'd love to hear the others! :P
Pull up to the bumper must be one of the others?
Underrated comment
The Cars' "Drive" might be one
Fad Gadget - Ricky's Hand

Gloriously demented on so many levels.
Yello has moved pop music to an art level. Underrated today but their genius will be recognized sooner or later.

This is essential (and by far the best mix)
this track is never coined in techno documentaries whatsoever. yello simply made an avangarde techno track with "i love you"
Mmmmmm! I couldn't wait for this video to air almost daily on MTV back in the eighties. I remember Yello's The Evening's Young video as well.
Ah, those rippling drums, they get me everytime!
Awesome! 💜
