Story 3. As soon as the father yells at you for disciplining their kid when you are protecting the life of their 2-year-old from getting serious brain injury or killed by the older sister kicking the kid in the head... You completely agree with them. You will agree to not discipline their kids anymore... And you immediately call 911 to report child abuse and child neglect.

Agreed. The best way to get around such stubborn people is to tell them what they WANT to hear, then do your appropriate actions afterwards, aka CPS.

First story, depending on jurisdiction, inheritances are not considered community property in terms of divorce.

In the 3rd story, when the father said "You don't discipline my kids, I do", I immediately thought that the response should be in the lines of "But I haven't seen you do it a single time", or "It certainly doesn't seem like you do".

Yeah more like... "If you discipline your kids why is your daughter trying to murder her brother because he wants cuddles too?"
Those poor kids have been ruined by the parents I pray CPS got them the help they needed before they grow up to become horrific people

    Last story
CPS should have been called earlier
Sadly going to foster care does not always work
The children might land up being in a worse situation especially if the foster parents are in it only for the money

Cheaters shouldn't get anything in the divorce, much less try and steal someones inherited home.
Also another reason you don't put large amounts of Money into a joint account unless its for a very specific purchase both people agreed to.

In the 3rd story, if it were me that the father said "You don't discipline my kids, I discipline my kids.", I would have responded with "Well obviously you don't or the little brats wouldn't act the way they do!"

Second story: Do we need to hear the story? If a spause says the other is replaceable that's the same second they print divorce papers and get rid of the parasite before it kills you.
With the update: Man, I have a feeling that most of his health problems are cause by the stress of being with his wife, but he went back, clearly he's so used to it that he doesn't see it.

I cannot imagine a single relationship where feelings are the center of it, where it's acceptable to call the other "Replaceable".

If I knew some kids like those I'd be calling CPS on the family because that's going to end up fighting society in the ass one of these days by having these kids flip out when somebody tells them no.

@@franciscojaviermendezrinco1902 look man modern women are gold diggers. You have to go in a relationship knowing that. Don’t marry or just keep it simple and stay single, Kings. Provide the bare minimum only. Keep your financial independence and never let her see how much you have. Keep important assets in your family’s name. If she leaves you thinking she hit a jackpot you’ll have everything and she’s getting nothing.

Yea i "knew" someone like that around 20 years ago, she used to live in a small hole of a village, and had a nice house but jo jobs.
Once every few years she goes to Montreal, find a rich dude and marry him, then after awhile divorce him since she got proof of him cheating with he best friend.
IIRC they both went to jail when one of her husband died, and the police discovered the scheme. Something about them drugging the husband's IIRC.
Anyway, scam artists will always exist.

Second story it should never be acceptable to call someone be replaceable, then again all of us have said things during the heat of the moment we regret later or would never never say normally
Third story I discipline my kids not you sure doesn't sound like it. Only a third of the house was burnt down it might as well been the whole thing since there is almost no chance OP could live in it till it was rebuilt

1st story. when going through a divorce. there are several things you can do with the demand letter from the other party. some of my favorites are that you can make their demands your demands by simply copy and pasting what they want onto a letter you send to them. you can cross each one of theirs out and tell them no or you have have them agree to give you what you want by simply putting in "X person agress to give X list of demands".
now i am not saying this will work but it will be some fun at their expense.

The second story, I have to wonder if the problems weren't a result of mental health issues on her part. However in her case though, his heart attack brought a sense of reality to her and what she had, and how close she came to losing it. It made her take a deep and hard self inventory of herself, and what really mattered in the end. there;s a lesson in the story for all of us. that's what we consider replaceable it's not always the case, and what we consider irreplaceable is or simply isn't as valuable as we may think it is.

I hope the kids end up with good foster parents, they're young enough that there behavior can still be corrected. Though it will take a lot of effort early on, but my guess is they'll spend some time at a facility that doesn't put up with that behavior and will learn quickly.

I highly disagree with that single comment calling the OP an idiot for going to counseling and working on his marriage with his wife.
No his wife shouldn't have said that, but absence makes the heart grow fonder. They were still in love and both were willing to fight for their marriage. I say bravo for getting help and fixing their relationship. They were both doing the work, so it worked out well for them and I am glad.
We need to make it popular to grow old together again. People need to dream about being wrinkly and doing old people things with the person they had ups and downs with surrounded by family.
I wish the people in my life were willing to do the work and not just walk away after wounding me. It hurts to be tossed out like trash because they think they found something that seems better because the grass just looked greener.
