Sadly, some young people think abuse is only physical abuse that leaves bruises, welts and scars. I experienced that but I learned to separate my mind from what was being done to my body. I couldn't do that with verbal abuse being spewed at me. When my parents did that their spittle sprayed my face. From 13 I was Cinderella who was the only one to do the cooking, cleaning and cleanibg. I don't know why they were surprised when I left home on my 18th birthday. It was 1 day after I graduated from high school.

That's just the thing people who are abused do not see it as abuse so they believe that they were never abused until someone points it out to them then they are there often wide eyed with a ''oh...'' reaction

A lot of people just dont have a reference for how a healthy family is supposed to look, the abuse becomes so commonplace for them that they see it as normal

    • @SeanBZA

3 counts, not 2, as she did not know son was out, so was planning on killing him as well. Then the arson charge, and then the destruction of government property, resisting arrest, endangerment charges. But likely the first thing will be a psych evaluation to see if she is competent to stand trial, which will likely lead to her being locked away in a institution for life, or spending a few years there first before the prison sentence starts. 25 years minimum, though parole will mean it is 12, though OP can easily, as an involved party, also petition when parole comes up to not allow it, so she will do the full 25, after the 3 years or so of psych evaluation. She will not even be able to get a pension other than the bare minimum either, and the ex husband will very likely get sole custody, and not have to pay any alimony at all, or even support either.
Chef's kiss will be if OP son marries the daughter...... Karen will never be same after hearing that.

Arsonist Karen has definitely got an enormous chip on her shoulder . And if yourbchoice of names used in thos story is based on your (or your husband's ) ethnicity, I'd say she was also racist. She has priven herself to be dangererousky unstable, to day the least. Attacking First Responders vehicles in FRONT OF THEM is absolutely insane. Petty then malicious harassment was nad enough but escalating into theft, then arson and ATTEMPTED homicide!?!?!
I hope she gets the mental help she needs while incarcerated but I'm not too confident that our penal system will or even can provide adequate assistance. And I think weve all probably heard or read stories about people whi either refuse to acknowledge their mental instability or who stop taking prescriped medication (s) because they decide their "cured" or just dont like a aking them. My own mother was prescribed something when I was younger but flushed them down the toilet because they made her not "feel like herself". (Thats kind of the whole point .) I don't know any details & probably shouldn't have known this much because of how young I was when first heard about it.

I will never understand how parents blame their children for their mistakes & poor life choices & it really pisses me off when they blame a baby who had no choice in being conceived for any health problems during the pregnancy or for infidelity issues in the marriage. OPs dad cheating had absolutely nothing to do with his wife not being able to do that for a while. He was probably already cheating or would have cheated even if the pregnancy had gone perfectly. But out of all that the biggest stretch was the sister blaming OP for not being able to land a rich husband, bc it couldn't possibly be the fact that she was toxic & acted like someone that rhymes with door or mutt

The third story, given that the neighbor first demanded that the firetruck und ambulance be moved from in front of her house. To then attacking both with a crowbar. I had to laugh when the OP was asked if they were having problems with anyone.
Just look in the back of the cop car to see the neighbor in handcuffs.

I bet spoiled sister was trying to babytrap rich men, with the approval of her mother. Hence why they are anonymous, they probaly gave her money instead of a ring.

This is the first time I've heard the story where they blame the kid for their cheating. Blame the op for sister opening legs everyone. This out of world entitlement. Found a new level of entitlement now. Now they're going to blame op for divorce. Next sisters go after the for child support.

Story 3: Karen was a lazy, narcissistic slob. Her daughter kept her own space cleaner than the rest of the house (usually the opposite happens in families with kids). Just goes to prove you shouldn’t ignore problems (namely Karen) but confront them instead. After Nadia returned the stolen bike, OP should have confronted Karen and the husband (if only to make I’m aware of the psycho he married).

Second story: That reminds me of a Reddit user named Kragel Tom. But this story was full of intrigue. How that poor guy grew up being abused and escaping the situation only to be harassed by his family and bullied into giving the sister his home that he bought and paid for. This brings up another Reddit user known as Camper Nomad who was abused by his family too. Both Kragel and Camper's stories are worth reading on Reddit.

Didn't abuse you? Constantly telling you that you almost killed your mother and that your sister could not go to a good school because of all the money they spent to keep you alive AND telling you that you are sucking them dry IS ABUSE!! No "if, and or buts" that is ABUSE!

All entitled Karens/Kens need to get their eyes checked, their ears cleaned, and their heads examined! 1 of the 10 commandments clearly says, "Thou shall not commit adultery!" There's no excuse for abuse! And my mother says, "You should love your children equally!"

How's it OP's fault they almost killed their mother during childbirth? OP didn't make the choice to be born. Plus everyone blaming OP for their father being unfaithful is somehow OP's fault? Makes me think of religious people blaming the devil for when they cheat. No, you did that. You made the choice and weren't happy, (or in this case couldn't wait until the mother was better.) You did that, no one else. Controversial opinion, but I think people should pass tests to determine whether they'd be a good parent. Thus courses to educate them on how to approach it. The alternative is just another damaged soul, (not their fault obviously,) whom doesn't know how to truly live and how to be a productive member of society. Often su8ch people turn their lives around and be better. But just as often, they end up in prison, or the splitting image of their parents, with the cycle repeating itself.

Look, I can understand being salty for getting turned down for a stupid reason, but this seems like a really bad idea. The people who are in charge of admissions are not the same as the people who hire for staff positions, so it's highly probable no one on that specific hiring committee was involved in the decision not to accept him into the university. Furthermore, reputation is highly important in academia, and this is the exact kind of incident that can give you a VERY bad reputation, even if you are a generally respected expert in your field. It would have been much wiser to simply not take the interview and move on with his life...

What was done was verbal/emotional abuse. This is a pathetic excuse for a so called parents. The sister us just as abusive. And to blame a child because a parent can't keep it in their pants is sad.
