In the mid of the 90's a friend who game me my first bass lesson had one Jack Bass custom V in natural wood color, and ever since I saw that one I wanted one. In 2010 I found the exact one on Ebay and bought it. Now I have 4 Hohners (Jacak Bass Custom, Jack Bass Custom V, B2A and a J J FL (fretless Jazz Bass clone)).

You described everything I remembered about them... Yours Jay looks the same as the one my Dad had, natural finish, don't remember what style of pups was on it ... Will have to ask him! Great post chaps 👍

I have one that i purchased back around 92. Hohner B V 5 string. Just oicked it back up 30 years later. Had to get some repairs on the controls but she plays great. I have no idea if it is worth anything, but the solid body and neck are still straight as an arrow after all these years and it still plays great.

I've got 2 of these... one I've had since 1998, will never part with it, and one I found about 5 years ago, that I'm converting into a fretless. Fantastic bass, only problem is parts. A couple of the 'tuning screws' at the bottom, for want of a better term, have stripped themselves, and the only place I can find replacement parts is Las Vegas (!), unless I want to replace them with cheap Chinese crap, which I don't. If anyone knows of anywhere closer for genuine parts, I'd be grateful if you could let me know.

I've had one of these for over 30 years, looks just like Jason's. I love that bass, but it developed an electric buzz that was so annoying I stopped playing it, and it's been hanging as an art piece every since. I should bring it to a shop and get that fixed!

Love the Level 42 tune - but can't for the life of me remember the name of the track. I also have a Jack bass a black active one that hasn't been played for years and years. Got it out this afternoon to have a play. Not working very well, but sounded great when I got it going!
