My 2011 Buick Regal CXL Flip key broke off the keyless remote yesterday right around the pin, it was still workable with a little help by pressing it in and turning it with the keyless remote. Well $200-250 was saved. I went straight to Walmart and bought JB Weld for $5 woke up to a fixed key
Thank you for posting this video but I do have a question. Mikey broke off a couple of weeks ago. I see a tiny screw like piece on the key itself that fits inside of that hole. Is that the screw you're referring to that's on the key itself? Because for now in order for me to be able to start the car I have to put that key inside of the case with that will screw like thing in the whole and squeeze the casing shut as tight as I can. Do you know what I mean? Also I already did purchase an empty shell from Amazon or Ebay but it has the blank blade attached. I'm not sure what to do. I wish I could find the empty case without the blade...
Yes, there is only one screw that holds the two shell pieces together. If you have a key that needs to be cut you can call around to lock smith to ask if they can "cut" the key. Call around because prices vary. They should not charge you the same if you take your own key for them to cut. Seems like you should be able to pay about $50. Of course you'll place your electronic guts into the new key and you should be good to go.
@@adrianb6073 thank you so much for responding! I think I found a solution though. I found the shell only without the blank blade on Amazon. And it is for my vehicle model. I think it was like 8 bucks maybe 9 and it comes with a tiny little screwdriver also! So I've ordered it, I figured I really don't have much to lose for that price but thank you again!
On both Lexus and Honda the plastic cases are bonded to the metal key, you can't just buy the case...or at least I haven't found them. If you have a link, let us know. Thanks.

I’m going to try this out , my key broke off yesterday , what else could possibly go wrong for me lol
That's an amazing idea.
My key has a screw on it but I can't remove it to put in the new case. The screw in the key is hard to unscrew. Any suggestions?
Fantastic job thanks for the informative video
Get the JB weld for Plastics not the regular one.Ace hardware will cut the key.
Ace refused me
Why not just remove the uncut key and install the old cut key and electronics in the new shell?
Franklin Stephens was wondering the same thing

Is it strong enough ?
I don't think it's as strong as the original key but it'll last if you're careful.
