Looks like Red 1 had a problem with his smoke system. Apart from that it was a good display for early in the season. Well done for the camerawork. It must have been challenging sighting them in the murky conditions.
@@BenPSAdams Do you know why he was flying a jet with the smoke system not fully fitted. The pod for the coloured diesel was fitted underneath the fuselage. I would have thought they would have used one of their spare jets in the circumstances.
@@bovinestool1681 They had to leave a jet behind at Valley that morning as it needed some work doing to get it back in the air so red 10 travelled in the back with red 1. I imagine the jet left behind had a smoke system. I believe that the pod itself is an external fuel tank which has been modified so that may be why it had that attached but no smoke. On the team they call the non-smoking jets a 'tinship'.
@@BenPSAdams Cheers Ben. The pod has 3 compartments holding the red, white and blue dyed diesel for the coloured smoke. Hope they don't have any of these problems on their North American Tour later this year. There's a video on UA-cam of the Arrows flypast in Portsmouth taken by Red 10 from the back of Red 1.
This display was from Portsmouth on 5th of June 2019, for the D-Day 75th commemorations. The display starts at video time: 18:40 - Enjoy!
Wunderbar !

Thankyou, Bovine. Hope you enjoyed the stream.
