Really enjoyed your Scarlet Letter chart showcase! I stumbled into cross stitch and samplers in late 2012 and happened to find the blog A Scarlet Letter Year. Oh my, that was an amazing place to see SO many incredibly beautiful samplers come to life by very talented and prolific stitchers! Only finished two, Rebecca Robinson and My Beloved. So many more on my must stitch list. Your intros are always very interesting. I enjoy hearing about life as a small business owner, mom, wife, your home, and living “up north.” Thank you!
I guess people just don’t understand what being a small business owner is like. Self promotion is key, especially for a one woman show. Most of us are here for whatever you have to discuss, including your gorgeous linens and shop updates!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You do an amazing job and most of us can wait for our linen. Don’t stress over any of it. I love your floss UA-cam channel. You are so cute and interesting and you have beautiful hair!!!!
I always mean what I say... you are knocking it out of the park, girl!! I cannot wait to get my market releases, you had some of the best this year!! ❤
I enjoy your flosstube so much. Like you, I am a user of ziplocks for project bags & find they work perfectly. Loved the Scarlet Letter parade. I have stitched over 50 of hers (I know I have a problem) and collect her charts as well. I think I need to get a few out and get them started.
As I am watching your floss tube today, I am busily stitching Teresa Kogut's Faith, Hope, Peace, Love. I know that it will take me forever to finish it but it is a great stitch. I am also doing her Land That I Love.
Love the Scarlet Letter samplers and also Teresa Kogut! I am stitching her Cotswold Fields sampler right now : ) I have only one SL sampler finished but two others *almost* finished... really enjoyed seeing your videos and I am learning to get a cup of coffee and my stitching all ready when I see your notification pop up for another of your flosstubes!!! thanks for taking the time to do them.
I like the shop updates at the beginning. I saw that video from B & L, & was amazed that the gal that showed Dorothy Walpole said it was the 1st Sampler she stitched! You have a fantastic collection of Scarlet Letter, thanks for sharing. I believe the PO is closed on Monday. Marilyn
Love your format! Don’t change a thing! I must admit that Carol comparing your linen was so exciting for me because I don’t have that much linen and her speaking so highly of your linen was all I needed to hear! Just what I could see your linen looks wonderful!!!! Ohmygoodness Mary Bailey! I’ll have to add it to my growing list!I Sarah Brown is pretty! I really like the colors in that one. Thank you for showing us your Scarlet Letters!!!
You are too cute! Keep your business updates right where you want it! The Flosstube mullet! Hahaha! Love Scarlet Letter I just ordered 3 new charts! I don’t care how long I have to wait for your linen it is fabulous!
@@needleandflaxflosstube3647 Ann Grimshaw, Catherine Metcalf, Ann Thompson. I’m also starting the behemoth Dutch Beauty with Vicky Clayton silks,AND I am more than halfway through Ann Rayner! You need to do a behemoth video! Hahaha!
I am glad you got Lincolns eagle! I stitched the model for Teresa, I also stitched one for the LNS I go to! I still need to stitch one for my wall!!! It is beautiful! You know a piece is good when you actually want to stitch it more than once!!! It looks like a lot of stitching, but a lot of it you can do as fill in which really goes fast! I love your collection of The Scarlet Letter samplers! Blessings to you!
Always so much fun to see a video from you. I had to laugh that you didn't know your age. That's something that someone much older would do--my mother couldn't remember how old she was although she could remember everything else. Do look into Barbara Hutson's Queenstown Samplers. She is one of my favorite reproductionists because of her beautiful samplers and her attention to accuracy. I have one of her samplers in my 2022 to do basket. Of course it was fun seeing your Scarlet Letter parade. Many years ago several of visited her on her farm what a feast for the eyes and a memorable experience. Many people stitched samplers to memoralize George Washington's death. They were also in vogue to memorialize family members. There was a funny story about a girl who was jealous of all her friends who were stitching memorial samplers, but she herself had no family member to memorialize. She stitched one anyway but I can't remember whose name she put on it. Looking forward to seeing your linen in person. Thinking now I should have put Dirty Teacup on my list... Well, next time. Just a heads up... I think the post office will be closed on Monday for Presidents' Day. Take care, and remember to take some time for yourself.
We can fast forward, rewind, etc. I like that you are updating customers. Most of us don't mind waiting, and the updates are just another way to give folks info on their orders.
I remember that series that I think you might really like...it is on PBS and runs several seasons. It is Poldark, well written period piece, good development of characters and interesting story!
Another great video! I really like that you promote the use of basic cream and white linens and DMC floss. Sometimes we get caught up in the idea that we must stitch on only hand dyed fabrics with silk floss. That said, however, your linens are beautiful, Rachael. Could you explain in one of your videos how you got into dying?
Another very enjoyable video, Rachel, thank you! I like your shop updates, it’s interesting hearing about the industry and business side. Great Scarlet Letter samplers!
Hello Rachel, always fun, thank you for sharing your love of cross stitch with us. No worries on the delivery of your beautiful linen...we all probably have more than we can stitch any time soon.
You are so refreshing to watch. I love how you come on and say this probably won’t be long because you don’t have lots and then it’s well over an hour! Cracks me up. Thank you for more sampler enabling!!
You are going to need more than one retirement to stitch all of those Samplers! Wow! Nice to see you again. Glad you got a wee bit of stitching time in just for you. Happy birthday and enjoy!
Work first, play later...and besides, it keeps us updated on orders. I've been stitching SL since the mid '80's, yes I'm that old, and had the good fortune to tour Marsha's property twice. A must tour! Check out Rachel Allen and Hark--two of my favorites. Continued success to you!
I cracked up with the mullet reference! You showed some really beautiful charts. The only SH chart I own is Ann Grimshaw. To be stitched one day in red.
I find it interesting for you to discuss why you are drawn to each sampler rather than just show a pattern from stash and move quickly through the pile. Good presentation.
Thanks for showing the Scarlett Letter charts. I have no problem with you talking about the business first. I want to hear that part anyways. For the people who have a problem with it you could use a timestamp maybe to let them know when that part is over? Not sure how hard that is to do.
I realized I must be a hoarder... lol. Hey, that $3.00 was well spent!! 😂 I love paper better than the internet, so I flip through these catalogs often!
I'm everything Teresa Kogut. I have all the designs that are releasing because of the patreon group! I agree, if everyone is stitching it, then I am not!! Michelle from penny's daughter shares is currently stitching faith hope sampler!
Great video. Keep it your own and in the order you want. I have so much linen right now, so many full kits, but I'm itching to order some of yours. It's a future goal, because I just spent $1000 in vet bills for my sweet cat Diamond and she didn't survive. I need a little financial recovery.
Another very nice visit with you! Love Scarlet Letter and even went there twice in 1990s. I’ve stitched 5 and have Anne Grimshaw kitted with silk now. My 2 sisters have stitched another dozen of Marsha’s designs. One day I will try to snag some of your linen to fit into my stash! See you soon!
Thanks. Great video - added several charts to my cart for purchase in the future. Such the enabler 😊. I’m 50 so also stockpiling for retirement. Kudos to you for sticking with the mullet - you can’t please everyone all of the time. Honestly, I can’t even believe anyone would contact you with such a ridiculous request. Those two viewers need to get a life! Have a great day!
I like your format and hearing your business updates. I haven't seen Carol's video yet but I just used Dirty Teacup and IMO thought it felt like Lakeside. Looking forward to my next order!
Hahahahaha, on a recent call with my credit card company, the agent asked me how old I am as one of the authentication questions. I very confidently said "47!" Nope. Wrong. I am also still 46 😆 I keep wondering exactly how long I've been thinking myself older, and how long it would have continued if not for that random question, LOL
OMG I’m howling about your “age issue”! On my 46th birthday I said something to my husband about not being happy turning 47 (numbers are a thing with me) so I was just going to skip 47 and move on to 48. Then I said it was a shame I’d already used up 46 because I really liked that number and it happened to be a good year. My husband looked at me like I had horns growing outta my head…I wasn’t turning 47, I was really turning 46! Sooo I got two whole years of “46”…but when I turned 47 I ignored it and spent the next two years being 48.🤣🤣
Your work is so pretty. You are so talented & a pleasure to watch. You were asking why you say what you do and the sounds you make because you are who you are which is what I LOVE about you! You are who you are, there is NO need for apology. Just one question…am I the only one asking for AIDA? I love your fabric, the colors, the feel of the fabric, I just can’t stitch on linen. I keep trying but I’m not happy how it comes out & it’s just too stressful!! I’m too old!! Thanks for sharing
New subscriber, I heard about your Scarlet Letter parade and had to hop over! I'm working on The Hart Lives Where It Loves right now, just started it a couple months ago. I somehow had missed Elizabeth Gray, and oh my gosh, that's a must have for me.

I'll get to dyeing Aida eventually Karen! I've always intended to and if I ever get the time too add another fabric choice I most certainly will! ❤
Which of your colors would you recommend for the prairie school Santa’s using called for DMC?
I think Brea!! Dirty Teacup would be pretty if you are looking for a light background color, but if I was to pick one now, Brea would be my choice!
