Wow, what a saga - all for a couch!! Yes I am glad summer is over because ours has been 90% rain. It has finally stopped and fall is looking good so far.
So great to see you again Racheal. Sorry you’ve had such a hard time with your new couch 🛋! Now that summer is over and the kids are back to 🏫 school🎉🎉🎉we will see you more often!
My marriage had a “couch test” too! 😂 11:30pm on a Tuesday night about 20 years ago, we got our new huge couch stuck in our landing on end. We had tried two other entrances to shove the sucker in but it wouldn’t go (and we had measured it before buying it.🙄 There we were using every expletive and making up new ones…we couldn’t go upstairs, downstairs, or back outside and of course…I had to pee. Somehow we got that couch upstairs (I never did forgive it) and we are STILL married. 😂 I always enjoy your stories. It makes me feel normal… LOL Lori
Rachel! I had to stop the video to comment that your “Rachel Howell” is just beyond gorgeous ! Wow wow and wow: I loved it!! Also the sofa story 😂😂😂 all us married for ages can completely relate to the choice words portion of your story!! Is t it so true that I see doing it one way he sees doing It another and it’s never the same. And the going to all the doors around the house. Oh my goodness I was dying! Sheesh and all you wanted was a more structured sofa hahaha. It’s never easy for sure!!
I could not resist checking out the Cameron Couch like you I went through a “couch saga” recently. Went out and ordered a new couch to replace my 10+ old IKEA Ektorp couch. Fancy couch arrived but I live in a tiny bungalow and it would not go through any of the doors - fancy couches are pre-assembled who new. Returned couch & went back to IKEA where I finally got myself the new Ektorp which you need to assemble !!! Thought I would share my “couch story” - I can see a book coming called “Couch Stories”…
So how do you like the new Ektorp? It's been out of stock for over a year at my IKEA. My last 2 were Ektorp and I loved them, but I hear the improvements are pretty good with the new springs in the cushions...
@@needleandflaxflosstube3647 I like it and it went through the door. Even the Task Rabbit assembler was a no fuss kind of guy. I am still waiting for the chair (out of stock) not all can be bliss…
Hot summer in central California, currently 111 degrees with today's forecast of 115. But wanted to comment on your cup...my granddaughter gave the same cup (set of three) last Christmas. Take care.
I love summer, and really don't want it to end. I like the colors of fall, and the cooler weather, but allergies are worse than and it starts to get dark earlier. Nice to see you again Rachel.
I always giggle to myself when I watch your videos. Your sofa story sounds like some of my family's crazy experiences! I love your videos. I love your fabrics! What's not to love! You are quite the influencer! When I received my copy of Ladies, First: Common Threads from Amazon, I thought to myself I bet Amazon wonders what in the world is going on that this book is so popular! I have seen others showing it on their videos. I don't like extreme heat or extreme cold, but I love summer and hate to see it go. Our falls and springs are too short it seems. Thank you for sharing!
Your couch story sounds very similar to my summer of appliances:(. I’m happy summer is over because the hot temps have been killing me, but I’m sad summer is over because I have to go back to work and can’t just spend my days stitching:(
Hi Rachel - I’m a new viewer and I really, really enjoyed your video. I’m sorry about your couch story/ situation, but I enjoyed hearing about it. I felt just like I was talking with in’s of my sisters (cuz for sure that kind of stuff happens to us all the time)! And heck yes I can relate to the long married couple having different ideas on how things should be done 🤣🤣🤣. Thank you for the lamp review - I’m not sure I like the looks of the Ben-Q either, but no stitching lamp I’ve seen yet is aesthetically pleasing - so go with what does the job, right? I also enjoyed seeing your WIPS- beautiful stitching! Have a wonderful couple of weeks.
Love when I see you posted a video! Great stitching. Your couch story-oh my! I hope it all gets worked out and room put together. Really nice your son helped!🍁🍁🍁
Oh man, I thought for sure you were going to say you lost the sofa on the interstate. When my husband and I first moved in together we had a pickup crammed full of furniture. We were driving the interstate and it was dark. When we stopped to gas up the Sauder Woodworking desk was gone! We still can’t figure out how that happened without us knowing. It was pressed up against the cab.
😂😂😂 that is too funny!! I have to admit, I had my husband open the window facing the cab and had my hands on that couch before we pulled over, like I could stop it from flying away.. 😂😂😂
Rachel love your story! You need to show a picture of your famous couch with legs!😂 Super glad to see you! And always enjoy what you share! Have a great week. Good luch with the couch!
Barbara!! I fixed the couch today!! 💪🏻 I will definitely post pics when I get it all set up and picked up!! This couch and I need to make friends and start to like each other again... 😂😂
Aww, thanks Brenda! I'll have to tell my daughter you like her hair skulls, she thinks she's no good at it, but hey, she's still learning and it takes a while to get confident! I think she's doing great too! 😉
Great couch adventure story! I always love seeing your samplers, they are so beautiful. It sounds like your children are so responsible and independent. You raised them well. Hope you can get more stitching time for yourself soon!
Super hair colour - very Autumn vibes! Thanks for the inspiration to get the Plum street goodness & Plenty pillows started - perfect! Summer has disappeared here in UK in the last 2 days - what a shame! Happy sampler stitching x
Believe it or not.. I love the snow!! I don't ever want to rush it, but I always hope we get a ton and the roads stay decent!! Lol.. snow is perfect stitching weather! 😉
Hi I’m so glad you posted a video for September and shared some of your samplers as Carol did I really enjoyed it. I live in Arizona so I’m always glad the summer is over, lol! Just like those in snow country are glad when winter is over. Show more samplers, yes! We all know you’re super busy don’t let people get to you you’re doing your best and you deserve to still have a life, my gosh! Anyways thanks for the honest review on the lamp very helpful. Take care luv ya!
I love summer and hate to see it end. It's my favorite time of the year. For Sampler September, I am stitching Rejoice Evermore on Thornfield, it is perfect!! Looking forward to seeing your Sampler parade next time!
Oh boy, you are right... there is over one on a few of the motifs, which you could skip, but the Ingalls family has lots of over one and that makes the sampler. 😬 you might be able to do some shifting of the family and try and chart it to stitch over 2, or stab thru that Aida and try to get the over one stitched. I'd definitely buy a thimble if you go that route, but it's actually doable! 😉
@@needleandflaxflosstube3647 I'm always bummed when things have over 1, usually I just skip them. But I love Laura Ingalls Wilder and surprisingly there aren't many patterns.
I literally laughed out loud listening to your couch shenanigans- all of that and it isn’t even that comfortable. Read the reviews - lol. Totally sounds like something that would happen to me. At least it looks good😊 and your daughter is happy with the her new to her couch. Hope you get the right part for the couch this time. Thanks for sharing!
Oh my the couch story....LOL It was a good one. Hoping for some more aida colors soon especially in 18 or 20 count. Thanks for the Ben Q review. I saw it seems like a million info mercials on it from other floss tubes. I did however enjoyyour review. I thought I was the only one who disliked the design, finally someone was honest about it. Thanks. I am sure it gives great light but it is a bit pricey for me and I can envision me placing it anywhere in my house. Duck bill for sure.
Such an awesome video! I'm glad to see summer come to an end now my garden can really produce. My new winter veggie seedlings are popping through the ground :) good luck on the couch leg!
I enjoyed this video and was especially interested in the BenQ lamp. I have been sitting on the fence for a long time debating whether or not to purchasing this lamp because it is pricey. I feel the same as you in that the style is not my style either. However, in looking at current Ott Lamps, they are not either. Loved your samplers.
I am ready for summer to be over. It’s been so hot and dry in Texas. I don’t care for the strange design of the lamp. It may be great, but that would be a drawback for me. Nice finishes and wips. I can see where the furniture incident would be stressful. I’m considering buying a new couch also. Nice video. Thank you.
I was LOLing all over your couch story!! What a crazy time... I don't think my marriage would survive that experience...LOL. LOVE your samplers... I have Alice Sarah Denis on the go too... If I post on Insta...I'll tag you! Thanks for sharing all the things. Hope you can carve out some stitching time!
Have you ever watched The Money Pit movie? Tom Hanks and I can't remember the female lead, it is hilarious and your week=end adventures made me think of it.
Oh boy.. yes I have seen it, but it's been years!! I'll have to watch it again soon! I also LOVE Mr. Blanding builds his dream house with Cary Grant. I think Money Pit may have been a remake of it of sorts. Haven't we all had this experience at some point?? 😂😂
I love all my needle and flax linen I got recently. Really want some Thornfield. Looking for 40 count. Can you tell me which shops have gotten some lately so I can contact them
Love the sofa story, have had the same situation happen to me. Samplers were amazing. Ramble away you keep me company while stitching.

OMGosh! The story of your couch was hilarious. Sooo funny! Beautiful WIPs. Hope you find time to sit on that new couch and get some stitching done.
Nice to see you again Rachel! I enjoy seeing all your samplers! So sorry about your sofa! I thought things like that only happen to me!
That coffee mug!! 😍

Love all of your Samplers.

Thanks for the lamp review.
I bought a BenQ light the other day. This summer I stayed at a hotel that had BenQ lights on the desk of our room.

Since it is a wait for the IKEA one...I would order it! Then switch the other one to the other room when the IKEA one gets there... win win....
