Your strumming course is what changed the gamee for me. Strumming is like the beating of a drum , listen to the flow and try to just mimic the sound. Then work on getting just 1% better everyday and it will add up. Do not try to conquer it all in one day. It will sound a little better everyday and then one day you will be playing anything you hear. Just remember……. 1%!
What is crazy to me is when I started to learn guitar, 4 years ago now, I’d watch your videos and think “damn, he says it’s simple, but damn!” At this stage in my journey, I watch your video to get the chord order and jam! You have taught me a lot and I thank you for everything!
You exude cool uncle energy and it makes all the difference. Seriously though you have such a down to earth and positive way of explaining things that make it so much more understandable for people like me. I've been playing for 5 months now and I can switch between chords (usually pretty smoothly but i also play slowed down a tad), I can nail down strumming patterns, and ive even started trying to sing along which has been really hard
Got my Glarry just like yours ! Finally acclimated ! Strings better on This one sounds great action Good ! God Bless Matt I got the GT509 4 yrs ago ! The strings were sharp and the jack port came apart ! Had to file sharp frets and change strings ! It plays well and stays in tune . 2024 model no problems !The headstock is different though ! Also got a Jim Dandy Parlor (Gretsch) Its great for the price ! Think I saw one on your wall ?
Matt, new to the guitar scene, what's your recommendation for staying with in your capability? I want to learn a certain song, then get frustrated and move on, how do you suggest to stay focused on the one song, do you recommend that learning a song rather than learning chords individually then learning a song is better?
thanks for reaching out.. a lot depends on your goal. Like for me i try to just get better and better within the 4 chords (G C D Em) and then see different ways I can strum better
