@@sven_86 I think it's because early on, he mostly only did NYC, so 7s felt so rare because they is such a BIG range of pizza places in NYC. But the last year, every out non NYC review he does, he seems to drive out for them, implying a research to find "better". Even if the "better" isn't a 8/9, it's better than if he randomly went to the first pizza place he saw when in a new city and gave it a
Pro Tip: Neapolitan pizza has less crisp because it's generally made with higher hydrated dough (70% +) which enables it to cook quickly from the inside out from air pockets formed in the crust and dough.
Pro tip: No one asked. 😂 Obviously its a different style dough.

It’s because it is baked at a really high temperature (750-900) and only in the oven for 90 seconds as opposed to 8-10 minutes on a deck oven at 550. It gets dark spots but doesn’t have time to crisp up.

The ambiance of that loading dock the review was recorded on leads me to believe that the entrance/exit instructions were specially made for Dave.

When I lived in Naples, in restaurants every person would get there own pizza and was eaten with a fork, you had too because it was so thin, couldn't cut in slices it so0000 delicious, the only pizza with hands was the street food pizza, square thicker sooooo yummy! They never put a lot of chz just a few chunks here and there, soo good you'd think you miss it but turns out being just right!
I know when it’s quick that it’s usually a rating that’s mediocre I just wish I could try Sally’s what’s the other ones that are 9.1?

DeSano's is some of the best pizza in Nashville.
You have to try Viking Pizza just outside Nashville in Spring Hill TN. Amazing pizza

Ayyyy Dave. You gotta hit up Manny’s house of pizza downtown in the Arcade next time you’re in Nash. The story I heard on good authority is it’s a family run place. The guy was born in either Sicily (I believe) and then moved to NYC where he had a pizzeria before eventually coming here to Nashville where they’ve been forever. Plus the arcade is a real cool spot. It’s basically one of the first indoor malls in the US. Built in 1913. Everyone knows the rules.

This bodes well for Buonocore's in Haledon, NJ. I don't want them having a line down the block the way Rosie's did after Dave's review. Hopefully Dave gives it a score in the low 7s so I can still get my delicious, pillowy, slightly crispy Margherita in 15 minutes
I just had pizza from this place today but in Austin TX, best pizza I have ever had in my life. There’s just no way he scored this pie a 7.2

same, i had this pizza in austin. the neopolitan has the name VPN in their menu and the margherita is called DOP. I had the neopolitan it was amazing and I would rate it 8.5

At my local Neapolitan place they won't even accept call in orders. They insist you eat it fresh and it only takes likes 6 minutes to cook anyway. After 5 minutes in the box it's a floppy mess.
