      My external screen flickers when plugged in directly to the mac, but it recovers when the mac goes into sleep and wake up again. Any potential fixes?

      @Jpeglism 4 місяці тому

      Also when the enclosure is plugged into the mac, the power consumption is TWICE as it should. It only gets normal when the Mac has gone a sleep-wakeup cycle, dropping power consumption from 4.5w to about 2w. Which also fixes the screen flicker issue.

    Is this compatible with playing ps5 games natively with either Thunderbolt or USB

    Hi Mike an interesting thing about this device is that you can simply disable the fan by, installing it in the other way around! Yeah simply twist it 180 degrees and clip back the base, it's the same thing as the tape method when you don't have a slip of tape ;)
    This is because that the aluminum oxide layer is non-conductive so basically the circuit is opened if you install it in reverse direction.

      Interesting idea, had not though of this one. BTW, this was just updated is apparently much quieter. Thanks for the feedback!

      @@MikeFaucher I checked with Acasis and they apparently don't have a 405Plus with quieter fan. nor with a button to turn off the fan. The updated one is 405Pro, which is just an enclosure, without the docking capabilities.

      @@Jpeglism@Jpeglism This is very interesting, as I received the email directly from Acasis stating there was a change. It sounds like there is some confusion or possibly there was a recent change that has not filtered all the way through. Either way, I will send your note to them to see if they can comment in hopes of clearing this up. Thanks for letting me know.

      @@MikeFaucher Thanks for the communications! Regarding to the monitor, I'm only connecting one external monitor so bandwidth shouldn't be a problem. In fact it's not a problem on PC, and if I put my Mac into sleep and then wake up again in about half a minute, it would work just fine. Acasis is sending me another unit to diagnose but I guess it would be the same result.

      @@MikeFaucher And regarding to the DP port issue, unfortunately it's still there even with the new box without SSD inside. Quite frustrating but I've recorded some videos for them to diagnose so hopefully it's just a temporary issue.

    On the basis of this, just got the two items, but on eBay (bit cheaper than your links), my aim is to move my last two external hard drives over to SSD. 3 years ago, I had 6 external hard drives, so I am getting there! Thanks for the video! P.S. Got the updated docking station with a button to turn off the fan! :)

    I think this Company will be the best in the docking station domain and kick out most of the competitors. I do have the thunderbolt enclosure nvme with fan and its amazing. Looking forward to test and review this unit at some point.
