Well Mr. Numinist I own 7 1995W Silver Eagles in PF70 condition slabbed and certified by PCGS. Each worth 20,000-40,000 dollars each. I know people that would pay by fiat currency gold sovereigns or bullion or silver sovereigns or bullion. I own 4 all inclusive 123 separate issue sets of ASE'S. All slabbed and certified PF70 MS70 SP70 ENPF70 RVPF70 BURNISHED and all mint issued sets all in original mint boxes and certificates of authentication. It only took me 8 months to assemble. I won my state lottery and have been going crazy investing some of it in gold and silver coins.
Most of the value is in them being certified by PCGS, not the price of the silver by weight, which is what he was referring to. Currently, a silver dollar is worth about $21 usd by weight.

I would say 900$. Pages 1-4 about 200$ each. That last page is less than 100$. Fill in those empty holes, and it will be about 1500$.
Those half cents and large cents go for hundreds of dollars each in better grade. His are worn but still.
