It was actually butter milk, but normal full cream milk will achieve a similar result. The acid from the butter milk helps to break down the fibers in the meat making it more tender. Basically its the same process as aging the meat, but its not the bacteria doing the work, its the acid.
Hey Chris you mention seeing wild dog tracks; as I am new to hunting and still learning to shoot, what advice would you have if I came across a wild dog?
It depends on the situation. They mostly keep to themselves. But if you see one (or a pack) a close warning shot will scare them off. If you're on a farmers property with livestock I'm sure they would appreciate you shooting it. But it's up to you. Personally i think the Australian bush is out of balance and needs more predictors in it.
Love the post as always it great to watch you hunting . Your close encounter with a wombat was amazing
The wombat was a very cool experience. He was so calm. I've never seen one as relaxed in the wild as him. Thank you for the encouragement too :)
Always exciting when a new video lands. Thanks.
Glad you like them!
Awesome hunt, cool to see a little bit of bow hunting mixed in.
Hoping to do more of it next year myself:)
New subscriber to your channel mate. Looks very dry would be taking the boots off especially the bowhunters. Fellow Samba hunter. Ben
Hey Ben. That's good advice 👍
Great job guys.
Quick question why did you put meat in milk?
It was actually butter milk, but normal full cream milk will achieve a similar result. The acid from the butter milk helps to break down the fibers in the meat making it more tender. Basically its the same process as aging the meat, but its not the bacteria doing the work, its the acid.
What exactly does the butter milk do?
It helps break down the fibers in the meat making it tender
