    Was on DYE 4 in 1984 and in Kulusuk in 1977 and 1984, lovely place loves East Greenland has lived on Greenland for 7 years, really good video

    Thank you for those amazing images. I'd seen pictures of similar wind and storm damage caused to equipment at the Saglek Pinetree Line station. I think it's easy to underestimate the engineering/logistics involved in the construction and maintenance of all of those remote Pinetree and DEW line stations... not to mention the personnel issues. I believe the assignments were limited to 12 months in duration.

    Brian, is there anything left standing of DYE 4 these days?

      I don't believe there is anything left, Wes. I've checked out the site via Google maps and all the building are gone. I suspect that DYE 2 and 3 may still be out there somewhere but, as the buildings haven't been jacked up for many years, both sites are most likely slowly sinking into the tundra. Or, more properly, the tundra is rising up over the buildings.
