Hi Marie, I'm in the UK and love perfume parlour. I do exactly what you suggested and tend to buy either the 3ml oils or 13ml spray of something I want to try and if I love it I then get the original. I also sometimes buy the oil in perfumes I already own to layer with and improve performance of the original. It's a great, relatively inexpensive way to try new perfume that are raved about on UA-cam without breaking the bank.
I totally agree!! Unfortunately, with duty and exchange they aren’t as affordable as they seem but still…especially if you are trying the 13ml spray, it’s great! I guess the other thing is, some niche are fun to wear once in a while but I wouldn’t want a full bottle so to me the dupes are such a great option!
Julie G is awesome sauce! I love all of the fragrance friends we've found through UA-cam. Because It's You - ooooh now I want to dig out a sample Julija sent. The name is so elusive, isn't it? 🤔
Veronica gave me a sample of Lira... I really love it ! such a smooth sweet lemon scent.. I agree though that I have to like bury my nose into my skin to smell it... but then I think I would get a lot more from it if I spray a lot 😃
Oh how wonderful to hear that you loved Because It's You. It is such a lovely fragrance. My daughter is on her second bottle. I have my own bottle as I just loved it on her. Really a beautiful fragrance.
It’s been 25-30 degrees here, ridiculous, but that’s Houston 🤷♀️. We get a few weeks of cold for winter, I love coats and have a ridiculous number of them, it’s my Vancouver roots I guess. I need to try out perfume parlour. I’ve been switching it around with the Amouage, the Petite Robe noir black perfecto and this silly watermelon Escada perfumes. Have a wonderful week! 🌸💖🌸
It's starting to warm up here in Rome and I wore Narciso Rodriguez Neroli Ambree non-stop. I'm completely obsessed! I really enjoy Lira, but not enough to buy it. It's definitely time to try Because It's You. I'm with you on the goofy name. Italian perfume houses sometimes come up with the most ridiculous names for their fragrances. We still love them anyway.
Sintra is Gorgeous, I’m going to look for the petite noir one, I was looking for one that doesn’t have a strong patchouli in it, I bought one that has cherry note in there it’s nice but I smell patchouli lol
I got a sample of Sintra from a lovely decant shop on ebay and I was hooked until i saw the price tag lol the way you described Lira... now I really wanna try this one!!! I am addicted to the starbucks lemon loaf and I wouldnt mind smelling edible lol
I saw that you reviewed Sintra in this video, and wondered if you had revisited Sintra. I thought I'd mention that Melodie d'Orientica by Al Haramain is supposed to be a clone of Sintra. I have Melodie d'Orientica which I picked up from a fragrance lover who didn't love it. I like it a lot, but have not tried the original Sintra.
@@mariacollettlife Melodie de Orientica seemed a little strange when I first tried it, but it has grown on me to the point that it pops into my head all the time when I'm not wearing it. I agree that it's not for everyone.
I love Lalique Amethyst and always felt it was underrated. I will pair it with Lprni. I was going to buy the Lira dupe but saw that Fragrancebuy had a 30 ml size and so scooped her up. For whatever reason, I still don't have it (what-t-t?) but your comparison just nudged me over the line, lol. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend! 🌷🐣🐦🐇
I have a bottle of Because It’s You from 4 years ago and love wearing it . It was a hidden gem nobody ever talked about with great longevity . Love the raspberry and rose vanilla progression . I hope the present fragrance is as good . The original was signature worthy . The mens is the same as always . I have bought countless bottles of that fragrance for my son . I sadly don’t get any rose in Irresistible , only musk and pear, reminiscent of God Is A Woman . I think everyone skin reacts differently to Irresistible and don’t think it’s a safe blind buy .
Hello Marie, I loved "Irrésistible" on blotter, especially the opening, but it's one of those that turn uninteresting on my skin unfortunately. This Lalique's "Amethyst" sounds interesting, I wish I could test it before buying... Sintra I have an issue with, I like the orange blossom/marshmallow part but to my nose the green/bitter nuance clashes with the milk note. I may have an issue with that milk note in general...
I agree with sintra, something is sharp in there. Irresistible worked for me. Amethyst is less sweet and a bit “mature” smelling but I love it! I wish you could sniff it too!!
Sintra sounds like something I would like, but in fact, it's not for me. Ryan doesn't like it, so it's a no for me. For now. Watch me love it by the end of the sample i have. The dupes of Lira are SO GOOD! All of them are so good, and I'm glad I have the original, but I love the dupes, too. Great lineup, Maria. Sending love to you and yours on this special weekend! oxoxoxo
@@stellarose5887 I've always wanted to try LDBS but I'm too cheap to pay for the samples. 🤣 Let me rephrase: I'm too cheap to pay the SHIPPING for the samples! You’re right about copycat fragrance oils, they’re not exact but offer a close enough scent profile to get a good idea of what the original is. Do you know if ordering from Fragrance Net in Canada means we have to pay hefty duty taxes? Ordering from anywhere outside Canada is so tricky.
It’s a very simple process. I usually go between Fragrancenet and Fragrancebuy depending on which is cheaper. They add taxes and such in so what your total is is what you pay…I’ve never gotten dinged with extra duty.

Hi Maria, love your "what I wore this week" videos! Is there any way you can tell me where that La Rive perfume is made? I try not to buy any fragrances made in China and I find some of the really cheapie ones are.
My standout was Alien Essence Absolue, my husband went CRAZY, I mean like he was mesmerized. He even asked me the next two days why I wasn’t wearing that scent - so I guess it was actually his standout 😂 Ok, now I’m super curious about Because It’s You
