Hey all I'm no expert but your passwords should be encrypted at Twitter's "hub" so even if someone got a Twitter admins profile they wouldn't be able to see the accounts password. What I think happened is third party websites that link to your Twitter will sometimes ask for permission to make post and or log into your account, they do this to verify a real account and if you get a high score on your mobile game you can share it through them with their copy paste message. Someone probably found a vulnerability in a site that ask these kinds of permissions
Thats why you should never give those permissions. If you want people to know you got a high score on a shitty mobile game just take a screenshot and make your own post.
A lot of surfers and such actually do put a mask of sun cream on their face to protect it from the sun bouncing off the ocean. It might look stupid but hes doing the right thing.

I use to practice witchcraft on a minor level. It's always fascinated me and when I was practicing it kinda helped with my mental health. I have really bad anxiety when I leave my house on my own and practicing sigil magic helped me feel more comfortable when going out. Idk, maybe it was just a placebo affect or something, but it helped me feel more positive overall.

On the topic of the Twitter accounts, Charlie was wrong in that the accounts were in fact "impersonated" through the internal Twitter user management system. This is how most modern website with user accounts work. The system will just bypass the user authentication for internal users that have the permissions to impersonate other users. The passwords are "encrypted" using a strong one-way hash function which makes it virtually impossible to decrypt for anyone including Twitter employees.
The Japanese literally have a word for it’s called Chuunibyou or (middle School syndrome)

Hey, Official dudes! I figured I would weigh in a little bit, since I consider myself both a witch and a pretty reasonable person. Firstly, I think that it’s very hard to get an accurate read on the Neo-Pagan community as a whole, because there is a wide array of different practices/beliefs and different factions that are culture-specific. Most witches are also largely self-taught, and we don’t have any unifying factor like an official temple or bible. So a person who is just really enthusiastic about astrology might call themselves a witch, but so could a person who sticks rusty nails in a candle to curse their ex, or a person who leaves a small dish of fruit and tobacco out as an offering to a specific deity. I call myself a witch, but I am more like a scholar of 19th century esoteric philosophy and the occult. I take everything with a grain of salt, and I am the sort of person who would take antibiotics for a cold rather than putting out a crystal grid, because empirical evidence is a thing that exists and that I would be stupid to deny? Lol. I also look at various deities as being more akin to Jungian archetypes. To me, witchcraft is a belief system and set of cultural practices that help the individual feel more connected to nature and more attuned to other people. I had not heard anything about this moon-hexing business, but honestly, the fact that any practicing witches believe a small group of people would be powerful enough to hold sway over a celestial object is kind of ridiculous. Didn’t Kaya have a story about Turkish people shooting guns at the sun or something? Well, it’s like if there was a big group of concerned Turkish citizens who then felt that a bandaid for the sun needed to be launched into space to heal the sun’s gunshot wounds. The people whose tweets you’re reading sound like well-intentioned dummies with some seriously fringe beliefs. The witches in my local area would brush the hex group AND the lunar EMS squad off in the same way that we brush off the oxymoronic “Christian witches” as inauthentic and not representative of us. We just do crafts and have bonfires for solstices, man. TL;DR-The witch tweets were from some FUCKING GOONS.

Just to weigh in on the subject: Apparently those witches on Tik Tok didn't actually succeed with Hex, but they did upset the moon for trying (I don't personally practice witchcraft, that's just what I've gathered from reading and researching about this, quite interesting, subject)
I'm actually so happy to see so many comments about this (lol I guess I've only seen a few but it's way more than expected!) I think the key to helping people understand we (well most of us) are not insane is stopping the spread of misinformation about us and start the spread of real information. It's not Hocus pocus, it's a real spirituality

Research is probably a little easier for me than it might be for others, because I live in NY, so there’s a lot of cultural diversity. I think there’s something like 2 New Age shops, 3 botanicas, and a dozen psychics in a 15-mile radius of my house. From my experience, witchcraft is a craft, much like painting or sewing. I can't speak for all of us out there, as many have their own ways of going about it. But, for the most part it's about energy and intention. The magic I do is to give my endeavors a bit of a boost, to better my chances of things improving.
