16:48 sounds like the intro to Origin Unknown - Valley of the Shadows. I know they used a Korg Mono Poly for that, but maybe the patch for this one isn’t too far off either!
So good, I love the dw8000, im legit sitting next to it in the studio... Korg really should do another fullsize run of the dw8000, multi timbrality would have been really the only thing i would want added, along with sick surface controls obviously.
Wonderful machine. I remember playing it in the shop where I got the DW 6000 - couldn't afford the 8000 so bought the baby brother. Thanks for the memories. Still have the 6000 but can't remember when I last switched it on.
I think the DW-6000 is also a great sounding synth. In some cases I've been able to get the 6000 and 8000 sound almost identical. You can check out the Jam video I did for the DW-6000 where you can hear some of the sounds, I think it's an impressive little synth!
Its a fantastic sound, I knew Korg made great synths around this time but I didn't realise they were that good, I just looked it up and its hard to get, even the rack unit, hopefully I can get one sometime it would flesh out my small collection of synths :)
Check out the DW-6000 jam as well, I think it's a crazy great sounding synth too. It's too bad you probably don't live around here because I'm actually selling off one of my DW-8000's right now.
too bad the digital oscillator/analog filter concept wasn't explored a little longer. it had a brief window in the mid 80s, then affordable sampling came along and that was that. this was really the last period of real synthesizers.

Subbed.
Wish I could give this 2 thumbs up. Love my DW8000
do the sound of the DW 8000 is the same as the DW 6000 ? i was very seducted by your demo on the DW 6000 but less for this one.
