Your process is fine but in case anyone is looking for another way to deal with things like pencil sketch lines in the scanned image, try upping the contrast and tweaking the brightness. Lighter things like the pencil marks (compared to the thick strong Sharpie lines) can be faded out completely by increasing the contrast then lowering the brightness until they disappear (while still keeping the background white.. lower the brightness too far and the background will start to turn gray, which isn't what you want).
A Lot of us don't know how to do that. Can you tell us how to do that?
@3:15 I am showing how you can brighten the background, enhance the lines. I get your point, but even if the pencil lines disappear, the "sharpie" lines when pulled up in computer/cricut design will be very pixelated, therefor won't cut well.
At 70 I have seen a lot of different programs and I am not fond of learning all the bits and pieces of ANOTHER program!! I think the ones being used are consistent now. SO THANK YOU for this...just what I needed!! And thanks for all the comments everyone!
“No, I did not pass that class” 😂😂 Well you definitely seem to know what you’re doing now! Thank you for this video, I like how you made it simple and not over complicated! ❤️
Thank you for this video. The process is much less intimidating than I previously thought. I appreciate you showing us how you do it!
This was super helpful! Looking into spanning my business from hand-painted signs into clothes and decals with my own drawn designs and this explained all I needed to know. Thank you!!
this video I made a while back, if you have iPad, look into the app procreate. its amazing for those kind of things (:
Can you do a video using procreate?? I’m new to procreate and so confused
This is exactly what I was searching for! Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼
Awesome Juice!! This video opened so many doors!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks a lot I've really been stuck on how to do my own stuff instead of having to do the dummy demo's which are really not very enlightening on how to get the most out of this machine. This will be a good start at least now I can get my own art selections up! TYVM great tutorial!
Thank you so much for sharing! It seems like a lot, but the way you take your time to explain really helps!
Thank you for your video! I've been wanting to get a Cricut machine, but haven't because I didn't think you could make your own designs. I'm so happy to know you can, thanks to your fantastic tutorial! Which Cricut machine do you have?
I have cricut maker. I had a cricut explore air from 2015-2019 loved both. I just figured I should get a machine now that does everything a cricut explore does plus more hah
Thank you so very much for this video!!!! It was so informative. I am excited to now make my own images. I have been wanting to learn how to upload my own images for a long time. Thanks again great video!!!!
Such a very precise teaching...thank you so much for sharing your skill
Thank you! I think you look very real and cute, and your info helped me a ton!
Awesome tutorial. I really appreciate this video!!😊
This is what I’ve exactly been looking for. Thank you 🙏🏽
I LOVE THIS!! THANK YOU! I AM SO TIRED OF PAYING FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S IMAGES!! YOU SAVED ME A TON OF MONEY!
same! it ads up! haha
@@Zhannastar I did it yesterday! It worked! You have no idea lol I paid 30 bucks for an image just so i can sell it commercially and i was like i can draw this myself! Thanks again! :)
Wow pretty AWESOME😍👍. Love this video.
thank you
I learned a lot! Thank you for sharing
Excellent video! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much 😊
Love this step by step video!!
This is such a great video thank you so much!!
Hi, I have a question. Is it possible to draw in circuit design, I meant is it possible to draw arc, circle and free lines?
you cant DRAW, but you can insert shapes, like circles, stars etc. Also you can insert a straight line., its not curved, just straight.
Thanks for making this video! So helpful!
I love how detailed you are in explaining things 😊.. How do we copyright our images?
Or are you saying that they are automatically copy written once we make them?
thank you (:
well if you made the image, it is your own. But you can never stop people from copying your images once you put them up online of course, but if you have like a certain logo that you don't want people to use for their business than you would have to buy the copyrights to the logo, thats the whole trademark etc stuff, its a whole thing about it. What I meant in this video, is if you're making stuff and you want to sell it, but your using other peoples images, if your business gets big or its open to large public, the creator of those images can demand for you to pay them if they can prove they are the owner of those images. thats why I try to just draw my own stuff for those reason. But like on easy where people sell their images they usually state that you can use to make items out of them and sell. but you can't upload images and then sell the files. so when you make your own images into svg or pdf files, you can sell them to download, like I did with the cactuses because I drew them myself etc.
Great video ;) Big info!
Thank you, very much.
I can’t see the name pf the program you use to work the image in the computer
Hi, where can I find that program on a windows to edit like you did to make the images more cleaner(where u learned Adobe class)
& also the link where you download it to make it a svg file.?
Thanks
On Windows you can download GIMP which is a free program like photoshop. You could also download Inkscape for .svg files. Both of these do have a bit of a learning curve so make sure to check some tutorials.
@@intriguing-incidents thank you !! Will do.
Can you go more into depth of using paint to trace and remake your lines and everything
Deff have to make a video on that!
What Cricut paper did you use? I love the design
This is awesome! Thank you!
Thank you. That was awesome.
Great Video, very informational :)
thank you (:
Omg I’m shook 😱
Could you tell me the paint download you use to edit your picture?
Paint S - on Mac
Thank you so much for you tutorial. 💕 Just one question, could you have set to you design using a template in Cricut Design Space?
I'm sorry I don't understand the question..
Great informative video! Thanks
you're welcome (:
How long does this typically last after washing and wearing?
Please can you advise me on how I can copy write my images and able to use them to sell ? Thank you
Hello! Thanks for sharing!
I do not see the website listed in the description.
www.zhannastar.com/post/cactus-free-png-file-tutorial
What is the programme that can be used on my CPU, which is not a Mac? (Paint programme)
Paint, Adobe draw, Adobe illustrator
Great stuff! Are there any issues with copyright or upcycling items? I've seen you use the channel logo so I was just curious about that.
yeah copyrights big time. just use it for your own personal use honestly (like logos) if you sell it, yes you can get into trouble.
Thank you , you’re a. Great teacher!
love this video, very helpful.
thank you!
Which blade did you use? Is it the Cricut Maker? Just wondering bout the curves. My blade cut into mat, leaving Knicks in mat....only on curves.
for regular iron on, use premium fine blade amzn.to/2OZJwbi
also make sure you are using the exact setting for the iron on, since theres all kinds of iron on vinyl, like patterned, textured, mirrored, shiny, glitter etc - they all need to be cut under different specific settings.
Thank you very helpful
I like you, I know your trying to help people.
Ahhh so cute!!
thank you!
also it's possible to draw images in illustrator directly and you don’t have to clean up afterwards
oh yeah defiantly, thats way better. I just don't want to pay for it, and I kind of suck at using adobe illustrator, its been years haha
I also figured procreate on iPad is so cool. It’s easy to draw and share images, then just upload to cricut design space.
I am an artist and would like to put some on my drawings or paintings on card or possibly a shirt. How would I do that using some of your techniques. Thank you so much, Love this video
this video I made when I was very limited to things like an iPad and procreate app. look into it, a lot of digital art that is sold to be put on fabric, t-shirts, cards etc - procreate is used. or you need a very high quality scanner, that way when you draw/paint on paper you can scan them onto your computer and than just delete the background, and it will become digital
Hello I don’t see in the description the link to the program or website you used to upload and clear up your drawing. Also do you mind giving the name of the paint program that you use on your iOS computer? Thank you
Paint S. Is the paint program I use on my iMac.
online.rapidresizer.com/tracer.php - this works on some images not all. its like a hit or miss
Thank you so much!
could you create this using procreate? would that be easier than free handing and cleaning up all the lines? wondering if procreate is worth it
I suck at using procreate. but since I made this video I have found "adobe draw" its a free app, so I use that to clean up my images. its very simple to use. this was just one way that I did this using just a computer and a free application, that many people have access to (:
What software/program did you use to add the triangles ? Thank you! Blessings
its called paint. but I suggest using "procreate" app for everything now. check it out its an app
What app did you use? you keep saying Paint. Is there anyway you could post a link for the paint for MacBook?
go on your App Store on your MacBook and search Paint S "paint S" is the app.
You’re so great at explaining your processes. Do you have an Instagram or TikTok?
Cool video.I love to draw by hand to I want to buy a drawing tablet.
Nice...
Great video. Of course all the steps would be a opportunity . But love your content
Thanks so much.
very nice.. you are so talented. you should get into fashion designing/
Thank you 😊❤️
Hi Hun!! Love this video! You mentioned a link to a website where you upload your image & click trace, but I am not finding it. Can you please let me know which website it is? Thank you!!
I used this one online.rapidresizer.com/tracer.php
but it no longer works as it used to. I think they changed it up
@@Zhannastar is there another website that we could use
How do you get the copy right for your images? Do you have to do anything to officially own them?
I don't know. theres patent and trademark and copyrights, its a lot. I just do it for personal use or so I can sell the images on my website or etsy shop withought getting into trouble. I dont need to actually buy any "copyrights" to it. for such things it would be too much time and money consumed to get copyrights too. its only worth it if its like your brand, or your company name etc
does anybody know the name of the paint app on windows? :)
microsoft paint. not sure if it has the same "tools"
What website did you use for the tracing image
I was using the PAINT S app on iMac
Could the image be applied to a card?
yes. but I wouldn't use the iron on vinyl, they have sticky vinyl or craft paper.
How do you get the copy write to your images so you can sell them?
you don't have to buy copy rights to your own images. if you have designed them yourself, you can sell the svg/pdf files on websites like etsy.com where a lot of people sell their handmade products - which include computer files like images etc. just write in the description a disclaimer for personal use only, not for resale etc. I mean theres no guarantee someone might steal them and copy and sell them themselves, if you find them you can sue, but yeah unless its your business logo etc, don't buy copyrights or trademark for your images, it will be wasted money in my opinion.
Can u send me the link
What is the name of the paint app please
Paint S
what paint app do you use
Paint S
i have it on my mac desktop.
I really enjoyed this video, but I have one big question! How do you take the file from the computer to the Cricut?
Sorry, my crafting journey has taken into foriegn lands. I have been making metal jewelry (copper bracelets, silver earrings, ect.) and I want to step it up a notch by etching my materials. My mom has a Cricut that would be perfect for my needs, but she has no idea how to use a computer. She said she just buys the cartridges and sticks them in.
I know I can't put metal in a Cricut. I would be using it to print stickers that I put on the metal before dipping into acid.
Is her Cricut outdated? Maybe she has something completely different... Can someone please point me in the right direction?
yes if she has the cartridges than her cricut is the original one, and that one doesn't use the online cricut design.
cricut maker I believe can actually etch a little on metal - I think I seen a few videos on UA-cam.
but for stickers a cricut explore air or the cricut joy is good for that (: and that you will be using the online cricut design, no need to buy cartridges and you can do soooo much more for free
@@Zhannastar Thank you so much for your reply! I was afraid that was going to be the case. Looks like I'll be buying a Cricut of my own.
McDerbin Games the sticker won’t burn away in the acid?
@@leilanim7338 Stickers printed or cut on paper would probably melt pretty fast in acid. I've seen sheets of thin plastic with adhesive on the back, and the plastic will actually hold up in the acid.
I couldn't tell you why that is exactly, but it seems that plastic is unaffected by several different types of acids.
McDerbin Games oh cool, well good luck with your projects ☺️
the rapid realizer is a service, please provide something that doesn't cost money. thanks
must have changed by now. most things are to be paid for. checkout adobe fresco: painting studio is free. I personally now use PROCREATE. it is ten dollars but unlike everything now a days, procreate doesn't charge you for nothing else after that one time, nor does it have ads. its very awesome. ton of tutorials on UA-cam how to use both apps. especially procreate
good ideal 👍🏼 buttt just copy and paste from clip art, put it in Inkscape and your done 👻 of course after you clean it up
I don't like Inkscape. I have tried but its too confusing for me. But since this video I have found different apps to do this faster and easier! need to update the video haha but thank you for your input!
Zhannastar sorry if I made it to be shameful to u but was just giving a little option
just so you know that windows paint doesn't have the same capabilities as apples. less features to use such as the curve etc.
What is the paint app on the Mac you use?? Can't seem to find mine...
I think she is using Paint Pad Lite.
on the App Store on Mac search "Paint S" I know they should have a free version, but I bought mine for $10 one time purchase. for me it was worth it (:
no hun, its Paint S. mine is the purchased one. I did have the paint lite before but it didn't have the things I wanted it to have so I bought it, and now my app is "PAINT S" and if you search it in the App Store thats what it will come up as the name of it it
as well. @@julielynn7507
Can I download this for Windows?
@@morganbelhumeur8281 yes, theres a free paint app for windows.
awsome video but the grammer nerd in me wanted to scream out "CACTI" in the first 5 secands of the video🤣🤣
English is my 2nd language, I sometimes tend to mispronounce words. sorry 🤣
Lol slow down there killa! Before you claim yourself as an English professor, you should know better than that. What language do you speak fluently other than the one single one you’ve only known? And can you read and understand it too? Sounds like you should travel a bit more before you claim that masters degree. 😂
Why would you just not erase the pencil marks? Or use another piece of paper over the top and trace it? (using a lightboard or a window) I just can't image why this is easier.....
I did erase the pencil marks @2:38
Is that why you had to go back over them and erase them again? Lol
Cacti.
Why am I still confused
I just screenshot images. Don't care really who's they are, I take out the water marks in picsart and then upload them to cricut
Same. Lol
SAMEEE (not those apps, but same concept lol) but this is more for if you want to sell the images as digital files.
that's illegal.
2 minute ad 15 seconds into the video wow
sorry, its w.e UA-cam decides on my channel. I don't pick the placement. but I need my videos monetized so I can get compensated for my work and time. I don't like ads either when I watch UA-cam but it is what it is. lol
YOUR TO FAST I COULDN'T ABLE TO GET .
I'm sorry, theres a "settings" button on this video you can pick how slow you want it to go
America is being judged.
