Very kool, this is something i want to do when you open up for send in's. put a RFX95, 10 turn clarifier and a 5 band EQ into the Cobra 148GTL you did for me last time. (I even have the RFX and EQ ready to send) my brother is using a Palomar TX100 on the 148 you did for him. it sounds great. I really like the older radios like the Uniden PC76XL and the Cobra 29 LTD for A.M. And the 148's and Grant XL's for SSB.
The older radios were definitely built way better than today's radios. That one with the rfx would be great to drive a 4 pill or 6 pill amp. Have a great weekend buddy ✌🏼
Yep that's one thing that you really get is flexibility when running a rfx with a on/off switch option. You could literally run everything from a 2 pill to 6 pill!! Appreciate you stopping in 👋👍
I have an old general Washington that I have used since 2007. How can I get in contact with you to see what you can do with it? It’s running one channel off, tune it to 18 to talk on 19, just for one of the issues I’m having with it… Thank you… great videos and I’m glad someone out there actually takes pride in their work.

When I opened up the Philippine and the Taiwan man they were using all the same stuff, I couldn't really find a difference between the two.. then I opened up a Chinese one and yeah I noticed a big difference, now if I could get a Malaysian I would like to see how close it is to Taiwan and the Philippine
@@samward9641 first one was Philippine my second one was Malaysian but today’s radios for $225. You can get a quad five and have all the extra frequencies built in Eco built in everything I can’t see buying a Filippini 148 four $250 that radio can’t hold a stick to the new radios, something I never ever believe that would say
Got 4 of these RFX95HD amps. Just installed one on a cobra 29 Ltd classic doing 22w peak output. With the amp installed and wired up correctly, in only seeing 50w peak output and meter light on radio dims. Could it be the power cable I'm using? It's the factory 4a wire. Could upgrading the power wire make that much of a difference?
I'd love to have a 959 with a rfx or . A Cobra 148f gtl with rfx Would Be Totally Flippin Awesome ... hey Matt do ya have any SSB radios with rfx available
So what type of car or SUV do you and your wife drive? Can you mount an RFX95 equipped radio in either vehicle where you can see the radio and work the controls especial SSB? The RFX95 makes an already huge radio even larger and longer.
Yes I sure can fit a radio with a rfx95hd on it..not saying the rfx kit is for everyone ..just wanted to through out thoughts on some things and see what the viewers think..thanks for watching

Amp does not run hot at all and the reports on air are that it sounds great for a stock mic.

Agree with most all of the video. But the audio on 959 just isn’t great. What can you do to clean up the audio ?
Not sure what you mean..I have skip gates from customers who have 959’s and they are getting told they have great audio.
