I'd like to normalize the acronym NIBI for "No Immediate Board Impact". It both rolls off the tongue, and sounds cute & inoffensive - much like the cards the acronym describes.
Glad you enjoyed! I'm hoping to keep this up each time we see a new set's Legendaries -- it'll be interesting to see where new stuff ends up (and also whether old stuff falls or rises!)
Great video. I'm going out on a limb and predict that Aayla is going to be insane in green/white. Even if you're not going wide, having 3 units in play is not really that difficult, and having something that can swing for 6 and not take any damage back is a major threat.
Think Force Lightning should see a spike this set. Can see a Maul/ECL force centric deck existing this set. (dont know if it'll actually be good yet or not, but instantly the best deck for force lightning)
I could see it, but to me I think what Force Lightning most needs is strong 1-4 cost (ideally 1-3 cost) Force units that fit well into Villainy decks. Right now, we don't have much of that at all, and stronger "high end" Force units and leaders aren't quite the thing in my view.
Aayla is gonna be quite strong I believe. It is situational, but a 5 cost Han (unit) is crazy. She isn’t S tier in my mind because it will really only work is some decks, but those deck it works in is very strong. I think it makes her A tier. In a Rex ECL deck she is S tier because you are almost guaranteed the coordinate on the 5 resource turn and that effect on 5 resources is so strong.
I think Poe is a very strong unit, but as I described my S tier is for autoincludes and he doesn't make it because a lot of decks that don't run Ambush or some other means of getting him to have faster impact don't run him.
@@TowerNumberNine In 3 sets there are only two 5 cost aggression units that impact the board straight away (and even then, only if there's a bounty in play for both). Poe has huge stats, the only 5 cost 6/6 in the game with the exception of Zuckuss (Saboteur, meh) and now Anakin (draw a card on attack if you coordinate, whoopee), both of which I'm sure you'll agree are far weaker. Poe's abilities meanwhile are extremely good and versatile. But agree to disagree I guess.
Good question! Personally, I think set 2 is too weak. Pulling a Legendary card should be exciting -- as it stands I've had a few moments where I opened set 2 boosters and pulled Legendaries only to be like "meh, whatever" because the cards just don't really have a role!
I think upgrade removal is normally not that big a deal, but right now we are in a meta where it is commonly played thanks largely to Darksaber and Boba Fett's Armor. If the meta shifts away from those cards and people stop maindecking upgrade removal, I'll be a lot more positive about costly upgrades...
I know, right?! He was arguably one of the very best legendaries in the game when it first launched, but the combination of the rules change against leaders and the advent of other 3 cost 3/5s has really stung...

I really appreciate your analysis! Nice to see someone look at all the legendaries together.
Helps put everything in perspective.

Yeah, having done a bit of set 3 testing I now think she will probably end up in A tier though we'll have to see...
Excellent commentary and analysis as always!
Much appreciated!
I would love to see the return of Fun Deck Fridays!
Don't worry, it'll come back!
One thing about Now There Are Two of Them is it will continually get better as more sets get released and more cards that share traits are printed.
Yes, I think even for decks where it might not immediately be strong it could be a "sleeper" that ends up having a huge impact later on.
While you were talking it occurred to Unlimited Power's drawbacks are going to disappear in Twilight Suns.
Yes, I think Unlimited Power is likely a much stronger card in Twin Suns format!

Quinlan ECL is where I am excited to try her. Being able to nuke Boba with her (ping + 6 DMG) seems useful?
@@SW_Oddballthat’s a great option as well. Hopefully he can keep the coordinate up as easily as Rex to make it work!
I think this list is great but I probably would have swapped black one and Rey if I'm being honest
Mace is B tier, Home One is A with Avenger , other than that I agree!
"I was going to put Rey into C-Tier because I have seen people play her, but I think those people are wrong"
lol
I call 'em like I see 'em...
Poe is the best unit in set 2 and one of the best in the entire TCG. The easiest S tier choice ever surely.

Is the difference between set 1 and set 2, because set 2 is too weak or set 1 is too strong?

Is unplayable because 'dies to confiscate' the same as unplayable 'dies to removal'?

if you told me boba fett would be a b tier legendary back in set 1 i’d call you crazy
