Good on ya, Greg, Those rissoles gave me flash-backs to when convenience food came out in the early 80's, when the microwave came on the scene They were "all right" but nothing to write home about. I do love a good rissole though, you can do a lot with them!
Frozen dinners are my "guilty pleasure" -- except I don't feel any guilt. I love good food... but man, frozen dinners always taste good to me - especially the ones with the veggies and gravy alongside some protein. Whether its lamb, rissoles, chicken cutlets - it's all good. My favourite is the chicken kiev ones.
I like frozen dinners for work, being a shift worker. That actually didn't look too bad. My local IGA now stocks 5 different Lite n Easy dinners in the freezer. It's not something I'd subscribe to, but I have to say, I bloody love the rissoles and veg. I do stock up on them for work dinners when I don't have leftovers to take. If you have a local IGA that stocks them, might be worth having a try. I'd value your opinion. Mind you, they might suck. I like hospital food, so my taste may not be the best!
I know it's not actually classified as food, but I love the rissoles. If microwaved properly, they have a soft spongey texture with a hint of meat The rest is shit. I reckon astronauts get served better mash. They also have a lamb cutlet, pretty much the same except the "lamb" is better. As usual, great review mate P.s. add butter and salt to these microwave mash
Jeez, this offering for that price GregO looked the goods on heating up and Aldi are fast becoming the queen of frozen TV dinners behind our friends at On La Menu...Glad at least the Germans and folks at International Cuisine are assisting us in these troubled times and will pick up oner two of these on the next Aldi run... cheers Gibbo. p.s. there's a hello fresh free subscription turning up in ya PO Box as well as discounted Bupa Health Insurance for a year...
Talking about food inflation, a reconstituted orange juice 3 litre from Woolworths was $4-20 3months ago, now $6-00,p which is an increase of42-75%, I buy 12 a month which used to be $50-40, now$72, so now $21-60 extra just on only one article alone let alone all the increases like milk going up by one third caused by Woolworths and Coles driving all the dairy farmers out of business so now there is a shortage of milk driving up the price , thanks Coles and Woolworths.
@@emailitzs641 No, 99% reconstituted orange juice, no sugar, that is according to the label on the back of the container, you can check yourself if you have a Woolworths App by bringing it up and expanding the back label to read it .
And the ass holes in government tell us there doing an inquiry into price gauging whilst owning stock in the super market chains all to keep us dumbed down while they enrich there bank accounts but you mark my words there SORRY 😂
Rissoles are similar to meat patties. Minced steak with onion, egg and seasoning and rolled into largish round shapes, bigger than meatballs. Sometimes they’re also coated in breadcrumbs.
When the instructions say microwave for 7 minutes .. Take it out at 4 minutes and cut the meat in half. Mashed potato’s. Turn the big chunks 180° degrees. Don’t stir. Just redistribute. Left and right.
I had the displeasure of trying one of those meals recently and they are complete and utter garbage i threw it in the bin after the first couple of mouthfuls !
As much as you love “butta”, I’m surprised you didn’t put any “butta” on those potatoes. Actually, “butta” would have went well on the peas and carrots too. More “butta”. 😎
Hey Grego can you buy a 20 pack of nuggets and have a food race with Rolo? 10 Nuggets ea with a timer on. That would be a hilarious video mate. We miss Rolo! Cheers. #420Grego
I cannot think of rissoles without remembering the story of the one armed station cook rissole recipe form the movie 'Sunday Too Far Away'. He'd roll up the meatball and chuck it in his gummy arm, armpit and with two flaps to flatten it out. I hope these rissoles weren't made using the same method. 😟
Cheaper and healthier to buy mince meat and make my own rissoles with fresh veggies anything boxed is bad for you... PLEASE DON'T ATTACK ME FOR MY OPINION WE ARE ALL ENTITLED TO OUR OWN.

You POOR man
Feels like Aldi invests a lot into product testing considering their smaller selection compared to woolies/coles. I usually love what I buy from them
Every time I hear the word Rissoles reminds me of the movie The Castle lol Nice job!
When you said the peas taste like corn...i almost died of laughter..lol
