Youngsta spoke the truth, the Coloured community having been consuming American Hip Hop since the beginning, our idea of identity was partly shaped by American figures due to extreme lack of representation and media coverage of our own community. We saw ourselves in the likes of American artists and understood their struggle against the system.

The Western cape and The West CA side , the hip hop there is so similar. Joburg is like Chicago vibes and a bit of New York. I am not surprosed why Black Americans get inspiration from South African Hip Hop .

I think we need a documentary that will show as many hood as it can so that the world can see great variations amongst different communities and townships around South Africa, because there are visionaries out there who aren't on every page of social media or even on any platform where he/she can be seen or heard out.
