- In Deir Al Balah, an Israeli air strike hits the house next door to nine-year-old Elaf and her family. They had already escaped their home in the Bureij refugee camp after days of Israeli bombardment. When their dreams of a truce turn into reality, Elaf returns home to discover childhood treasures and the fate of her friends amidst the rubble. But as the truce ends and the bombardment restarts, Elaf and her family are forced to relocate once again.

As a child of Palestine the realisation or the knowledge that they were and still are living under an occupation seemed somewhat irrelevant. She says that before the war life was wonderful. Because she is only a child and what she had before the war was enough to make her happy. Being safe, going to school, having books and toys and beautiful clothes. These are the things that all children deserve 😢.
She even had cats to look after and it seemed her cats were well taken care of before the war .

Israel killed, tortured and displaced Palestinians from their homeland. What happened on Oct 7 was wrong but Israel has been doing for last 75 years is also wrong and there's no justification of it. After Hamas's attack Israel had the right to defend themselves but that "self-defense" has now turned into genocide. Hamas's attack was wrong but what do you expect from them after being oppressed for so much time?

Thank you so much for making this documentary. Elaf's mum is so strong, loving and resilient in courage and faith it's incredible to see. Despite chaos and destruction, not knowing if they will live to see the next day and yet their character stays strong, kind, thoughtful of others, loving, and caring. They are truly Allah's people. Elaf is a beautiful child who loves life and learning, to see her packing her toys, books and clothes in her little bag was just heart breaking and yet she remained so calm. May Allah protect you all, give you victory, peace and freedom ❤

This little girl really deserves a better future, every children like her deserve to live a happy and safe life. They deserve to go to school, to play, to learn, to live their dreams. They didn’t ask for this. None asked for it.
The trauma they have been experiencing is too much, I can’t even imagine. Some of them are waiting for a doctor appointment or a surgery for their health.

As a child who grew up in a home where my "father" beat me, my mom, and siblings. Where he psychologically, and verbally abused us and a home where he sexually 2 of his 3 daughters, my heart and soul break for these precious babies.
These children will suffer unimaginable pain, loss and trauma. They will pass it down to their children for multiple generations.
All because adults can't get it together. All because one group think they are better than the other.
These children will be diagnosed with a variety of mental illnesses. They will develop suicidal ideation and Unspeakable depression.

The saddest part for me is not translated. As they’re leaving their old home after packing their stuff, her brother says you left your doll. A wonderful documentary...life in war ravaged Gaza through the eyes of an innocent child. I wish all, not just in Israel but in other nations which may be complicit or complacent, would watch this film. Maybe hardened hearts would soften a little and strive for a settlement that brings peace rather than continuing suffering, repression and subjugation.
