Can the parallax be a UFO alert replacement I just bought last month to try to replace it but since the absolute was an announce I’ve been hesitant to drill it which one do you think is closer

Yes and no, from a total hook perspective, the X2 is a bit stronger, but the shapes are different. Absolute is a little sharper on friction, but the X2 is stronger on the backend if that makes any sense. X2 has more traction and gets moving more, covers more boards, the Absolute is cleaner, slightly longer, and while it's really responsive on the dry, because it's weaker, it takes it a little bit longer to wind up and really move.
What ball out has the best continuation and just blows the pocket up? Constantly leaving God damn 10 pins. I use a super nova brutal obsession tour excess and a hellcat just got a katana assault as well
Just sounds like you're using to much early and smooth stuff, Super is strong and smooth, Brutal is, ObT is, Hellcat is, Katana Assault is still fairly strong too. Get like an Absolute or Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid or something, something that's going to get down the lane easier and then pop.

My proshop drilled my new iq tour solid before knowing my pap and this thing is reading a bit early and hooking like a monster for me. With it being 4k oob what can I do to extend the line about 2ft before hook or is getting my pap done and redrilling a better option?
Eh, just throw it for a few more games, it'll settle down. They all have a break in period, usually they're really aggressive out of the box and once they get broken in, they tame down a little and get more controllable.
Not terribly close, cover strengths are close, but the P4 rolls a little heavier and is smoother. Do you want something to react like the Phaze 4 or are you just trying to replace that spot in your bag?

@@justkoolin4178 Well the Exotic Gem is orders of magnitude stronger than the P4, and the Absolute is longer and sharper, are you trying to replace it with an asym? The P5 doesn't shape like the P4 at all, but it's the same hook potential. I think the P5 is better than the P4 was though.

So, if I go 500, 1k 2k would this be step down without insanity from the og zen? I'd really love to find an OG PHYSIX if anyone has one that's not smoked etc...
Yes and no? This has a bunch more core than the Zen but a fair amount less cover. Depending on the situation, it could feel like both a ball down and a ball up from the Zen. I'd go more in the direction of Phaze 5 as a step down from the Zen
If this is the closest replacement to the UFO Alert, could you get a similar reaction if you just added a little more surface compared to the UFO's 1500 grit polish on the Absolute???
Maybe, but the RG difference makes it tricky. There's a fine tipping point, because the lower RG core in the Absolute WANTS to start moving a lot earlier than the cover is letting it move. As soon as you get the cover to the point it starts picking up, it's going to go from a bit too long to LET'S GO NOW. At the same time, it's still a pretty clean cover, so it's going to want to still go long unless you "absolutely" obliterate it with surface. The other issue is that a polished surface is a more stable surface from a longevity perspective, the more surface you put on a ball, the faster it's going to change from that surface because it's constantly being polished by the lane, oil, hitting the pins, backer board, shaker board, return wheels, return track, wiping it off, etc. So say you did take it to 3000 and that was similar to the Alert's 1500 polish reaction, well in a game and a half, maybe two games, the Absolute has lane shined and you don't have that same look any more. Surface isn't a perfect constant, whereas if I could put a different layout on something to achieve a similar look, that's something that's not going to change. I might drill another one with the stronger layout I put on my most recent Nova and see how it handles it, if that might create the balance we're after, but again, I'm a little worried about going too strong and creating a bigger cover-core mismatch.

The VTE does roll kind of similar, just a fairly decent step down on the cover. Just going to be a weaker version with the Absolute

More as shape compliments, they feel fairly similar in strength, I don't think one is a ball down from the other.

I’m a high rev bowler, in search of a good Pearl addition. Looking to replace my phaze 4, how does this compare to it?
