- In this video, I will be bringing you along as I shop for Japanese food at United Noodles, a huge Asian grocery store in Minnesota. It is located in Minneapolis and is the largest Asian grocer in the state. United Noodles stock so many Japanese foods such as curry, ramen, umeboshi, chips, candy, etc. Be on the lookout for future videos in which I use some of the Japanese foods I bought at United Noodles! I definitely do want to share that you can replicate some of your favorite meals from Japan while being in the US.

I'm looking for asian friend groups in the twin cities area. know of any?
My father was adopted and raised by white people, and of course so was I. When I was in middle school, I got bullied quite frequently for being Asian, they called me "jap" and "Chinese big head".
You know growing up with a white family, I remember little things like my mom asking me what I want for dinner? And I would say things like Kimchi, or Phō, or sushi, or anything spicy, and my mom would suggest something American as fuck. Like: how about french fries? I was lucky if we got to go out to an Americanized Chinese restaurant, but we all know that shit doesn't satisfy your craving for TRUE Asian food. So my point is that I didn't grow up with parents who made sure that I knew where I came from, who celebrated my culture. Even my father was whitewashed. He hated Kimchi, Phō, and all spicy food.
Well in Highschool I moved to the big city and found Asian Club. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. It was a space where I could finally celebrate who I was, and be around other people just like me. For once in my life I didn't feel like an alien anymore.
Well. I'm 22 now, so there is no Asian Club. And it's killing me inside (no I'm not at risk of killing myself, I'm just empty). I am starving for a community in my life where I can go and be with people like me.
So I'm wondering if anyone knows of any friend groups in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota where Asian people just get together. Because I really need it.
