You never need to apologize for not being happy. Realness is so much better than masked positivity. Expressing our true feelings is real health. Im a therapist, and theres lots of great research about how grief is not a linear, step-wise process like the popular model would suggest. Its more like a ping pong ball and it’s pretty unpredictable. This movement back and forth between feeling the waves of sadness and then being in the joyful parts of your life is a really normal, and really healthy way to move through it. You’re doing great! I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. I won’t pretend to be able to comprehend what you’re going through because I’ve never had a dog, but my thoughts are with you and send you and Penny so much love 🤍 I have no doubt that you’ll rise up from your grief when the time is right for you, but for now just allow yourself to feel the feels and focus on self care. You are an incredibly strong and resilient woman!!

It’s totally normal to have parallel feelings when dealing with grief.
In 2021 I found out the my 20 week baby boy had an illness where he wouldn’t survive outside of my womb, he passed a month later and I was grieving him before he even died. It’s a hard concept.
I’m a week away from having my rainbow baby and I’m still grieving my sons but so excited and grateful to have my daughter. It’s a really confusing place to be in.
Never apologise, we all all grievers at some point in our life and being honest about it is actually refreshing 💔🫶🏼 Alyssa xx
