Great job on that Washington Carver.
Don't beat yourself up. Like you've said, this is how we learn.
Yes, learning a bunch! That ms63 Washington Carver is a bright spot for sure!
I like that F12 Barber! Fun video!
Yeah, couple good little barbers in the mix!
a cleaned coin has an unusually flat look for it's grade, like an unusual lack of luster (if it's dipped). Sometimes you gotta look for hair scratches in patches going in one direction. This series is so helpful and instructive, I always wonder why I shouldn't use ANACS and ICG, and these videos are convincing me I should.
They for sure don't just push through whatever is sent their way anyway. We're busting some myths right now. Truthfully, the cost is so much cheaper I plan to use both again in the future!
ANACS is a great way to have coins graded .
Fully agree, their value is unsurpassed!
Great video. Thanks!
BTW the values listed on the ANACS grading sheet are the values YOU assigned to the coins when you submitted them. ANACS grades coins, but they don't assign values to them.
Yeah someone else let me know... you don't know til you know! Hahaha total bummer for sure! Thanks for watching man!
Great video. 👍👊
Yeah this was a lot of fun, thanks man!
Great video! Love the Barber Halves!
Gotta love the barber halves, I have a big order of them coming back tomorrow!
Some of my favorite coins are ‘details grade.’ It makes expensive coins more affordable.
That's a fact... may well keep them for my own personal collection... Still value there, just not as much!
Your getting pretty good with grading! You nailed some and got close on others. Too bad 5 of those came back details. At least you did well on the Barbers👍👍
Yes, a little better as i go. I'm learning so so much! The Barbers are a highlight for sure!
Very nice my friend!👊🏻
Thank you man, got a few goodies in there!
I understand if there is a little disappointment, but even cleaned it is still beautiful coins. Well done on the Barbers 👍
Fully agree... still beautiful examples of the coins, just half the value or less... Still some wins though!
You win some, you lose some. It’s was entertaining to watch bro. As for ANACS & ICG, still not a fan. Great video bro. Aargh.
They aren't for everyone, but they're clearly not rubber stamping coins through like some would have you believe!
Great info. Be much easier to sell now though, should you decide to sell! 💪
Agreed, now we at least now the value roughly as a starting point!
Not Bad , Nice ! 👍
Yeah, the good was pretty great, 5 cleaned, not so great!
There ya go! Way to guess that grade!
Yeah i got a few right on this bunch!
Woot woot
Great to see you man!
Way to go Pirate! Some disappointments, but still up. Great video
Yeah, this was better than the last batch overall... locked in some value!
Thanks for taking us along your journey! At least it wasn't a stinker. I the keep all coins lol
Yes, the coins really look good together in the case for sure! I may just have to save em all!
Cool info
Yeah, some wins and losses here...
Thanks pirate. We are all learning from these videos. I really appreciate it 👊👍
Yeah man, it's been a lot of fun, got another lot ready to submit now!
@@PirateStacker good luck
Yeah thanks man!
Thanks for the transparency bud. Submitting coins are tough to master that's for sure and one reason I don't do it. As you said take it as a learning point and build from there. Love that flying eagle cent~!
Yeah we got a couple little gems in here... gotta pay the price of admission to get good right?!
Still in the positive! some nice coins!
Fully agree... some keepers for sure!
👍👍🤙
Aloha mane...
✌🏼🏴☠☮🏴☠☮🏴☠☮🏴☠✌🏼do MORE SLABS
YES, getting stuff back from grading is like Christmas! Addictive for sure!
ANACS is tough but I still like them as an alternative and I too also warmed up to their holders. I like that they don't easily chip but more so how the top of the slab can be read without having to pull them out of a coin box to determine which coin is which. I've seen 1/10th gold in those at a coin show and have to say with the yellow labels those coins stand out and pop.
Another great video. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah honestly i'm impressed with them. They were fast and affordable. Clearly they're not just rubber stamping coins through as half of mine didn't straight grade. I also like that even on the details coins they go ahead and grade it... Thanks for watching!

Yeeee Hawwww bro, great to have you back!
You definitely know your Barbara , PS!
I'm learning! Really good values on those barber halves!
Really appreciate you sharing your experiences with us, Pirate! I’m learning about numismatics little by little and I find your content is very helpful. Thanks, brother! 👍🏻
P.S. Check your email when you get a chance. 😉
Arghhhh! Gotta pay the price to learn the stuff! Hope it's all helpful to someone out there... i need an electron microscope i think! Thanks for watching!
Honestly, it’s a 50/50 call on old coins being sent in and not having details. As you mentioned in one of your videos about the ol boy cleaning coins from the 70’s. It was a huge thing for the old timers to do that. But there still worth mullah!
For sure, you win some and lose some. This was a good result ultimately. I'm happy and really enjoy getting coins back from grading! It's addictive!
Aaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh matey
Arghhhhh matey!
If it is me, I'm keeping the cleaned coins until I get a better one, unless I am able to flip them and reinvest. I am waiting for my first PCGS submission to come back. I posted a submission video and will do a reveal once I get them back.
Awesome man, I'll have to take a look at your submission video, they're addictive! Love watching what people get back from grading!
I'm genuinely glad that you were able to come up with a higher number than the amount of currency you had invested. As for whether you should sell or keep, it entirely depends upon where you are locating the value. Are you locating their value in the metal itself as money/wealth insurance? Or are you locating the value in the collectable potential? If you truly are valuing for mere collectable potential, I would ultimately keep nothing until I reached the end. I would simply keep any coin for as long as it took me to upgrade it to the next level. Ultimately, I would only keep those coins that are truly at the top level or just under the level of coin that simply don't come up for sale in any one decade. In other words, ideally, you'd have coins worth hundreds of thousands if not millions, but since you and I both probably have fewer days ahead than there are behind, I'd slacken up a bit and only start keeping things when every coin I had was worth at least a few thousand dollars in today's purchasing power. Once all my coins were sitting between $2,500 to $25,000 in value on an individual basis, then I'd re-evaluate and see where I was in my life. That would determine my next step. If you're not really going for the collectible value, but you're just having some fun with a hobby, then I'd say do what makes you happy. In that case, it doesn't matter, and what makes you happiest is the determining factor. Keep stacking buddy!
Pearls of wisdom as usual! I'm sure i'll find myself somewhere in the middle. I enjoy having examples of these coins. It's history that you just don't see everyday. So some of the low value stuff I suspect i'll keep as examples of coins from the past. On the other end, my higher end coins, i for sure want to trade up to even better and more valuable. As always thanks for watching!
Unfortunately, a lot of collectors would polish their coins. It's just what people did over the years. I'm leaning towards being leary of any old coin that's shiny. Gotta look for that luster.
Yeah, a lot to learn especially with old coins. I'm seeing cleaning with re-toning going on too, it's so hard!
@@PirateStacker the times we live in. When people get desperate, they do desperate things.
Without a doubt... it's everywhere at this point!
I know you don't typically cover nickels but I hunt them and have a album. New years eve I found a 1950D. It's basically mint and has FS. My question to you or anyone would you place that in the album or keep it in a flip?
I know nothing about nickels or their collectable value, try flying dutchman or fish for that stuff!
I have my own difficulties in my submissions. Thanks for making me feel better. 😂 I just sent in 16 coins to ANACS. I know at least 5 are details. We'll see... I'll let you know if your interested..
Yeah, i'm awful on submissions!
The values listed are “owners declared value”, not ANACS values. The prices are what you originally declared! It says owners declared value at top of the column you keep referring to.
Ohhhhh man, i blew that. Thanks for the heads up on that Von Werner!
The Slabanator
I got 16 more in at grading right now!
ANACS😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
I see you had lots to say here...
Why would he purpously tell you it would straight grade? Probably just the opposite if they say that. Glad overall you seem to have done well.
To make the sale... maybe he tought it would, probably a lot of people ask that, many may never submit... who knows...
They Don’t give values…. They only provide the values YOU provided when you submitted. They only use that for the insurance you require on the return shipping. That is one of the reasons I actually like ANACS - they do not provide pricing. They have populations but do not control them based on values.
Yes, i learned that after my first video on this... my fault. I do really like ANACS though, they've been a great value!
😂you're calling a 52 wash carv for $60🤯. Thats a $20 coin in that holder
Man I wish I could find one for that price...
Anacs doesn't assign value. Those values are what you valued the coins at and what they insure it for on return shipping. It's the values you listed on the submission form.
Yes, i fully realized that after the fact... be a lot cooler if they did!
Anacs doesn’t value coins. Those are YOUR values that YOU listed on the submission form.
You are 100%, I actually note that and share that info on the next video... thanks!
Helo l need the folmulari ls have in Spanish ok i have nice coins.
Submit those things... Anacs will grade them for you!
1908-D is $35🤦🏼♂️
Are you looking at grey sheet pricing?
Why save a little bit of money just to waste a lot more money
Yeah this wasn't my best submission for sure...
No body with half a brain cell criticizes ANACS's graders. They are tough. Their graders are just as good as PCGS and NGC.
Reasons for people not wanting to send to ANACS;
1. No online registry.
2. No online price guide.
3. The "look" of their holders.
4. Their graded coins dont fetch as much at an auction (not all the time) as the other 2.
So you nailed it on the head... Clearly their graders aren't rubber stamping anything, if anything I'm almost thinking they're stricter than the others to make up for the bad wrap. An online registry and price guide would be a game changer for them for sure, but I'm also sure that would raise the cost of their product which then theirs no reason to not go with the others... But I like them honestly...
That 1900 barber half is worth less than $20 in that holder.
You're hurting yourself & your veiwers on these unrealistic prices.
I'm not even going to give you any more values on any more coins. Unless you want them from me, because clearly you're going off of some unrealistic chart and not the market prices.
No i'd love to hear your prices, do tell...
ANACS is a very poor quality grading company, why are you wasting your time with them. When it's time to sell ANACS graded coins most dealers give you far less money for ANACS graded coins. Only get your coins graded with PCGS or NGC.
Why are they so poor? They're grading pretty strict from the look of it... Cost half the price of PCGS. I know they don't sell for as much, but most of these coins arent worth paying $40 to grade when the coins maybe an $80 coin... I am pretty sure i will certainly use them again in the future...
@Pirate Stacker I buy and sell lots of PCGS graded coins and well never buy a ANACS because most of my dealers friends at coin shows don't even want them. Also if you break out a ANACS coin and send it in to PCGS almost every time the grade will be lower. So a ANACS MS65 is a PCGS MS64 and most dealers know that.
@@mitchellkranz5307 i think a lot of us are getting tired of the pcgs wait time and price increases. I will send my expensive coins to pcgs but for the $100 or less coins anacs is looking better and better.
So for sure PCGS is king, but in the cheaper coins less than $100 I just can't see spending $35 / slab... that's tough. Anacs show special was 10 slabs for $129, super good pricing...
